This was my first apartment when I moved to Dallas in 1998. It was OK when I first moved there, but went downhill after that.

Maintenance was not responsive to requests. In the summer of 1999, I went for 2 weeks without AC. In Texas heat' C'mon!! The walls were thin, and you could hear your neighbor's stereos quite clearly.

Constantly there were cars screeching tires and booming bass at all hours of the night. There were a lot of shady characters hanging out in the parking lots and common areas all the time. My wife did not feel safe living there at all.

The breaking point was August 2000. Thugs stole a car from an old lady, came into the complex, and hit 3 parked cars in the parking lot late one night. It totaled my truck, severely damaged my neighbor's pickup, and damaged my wife's car.

For the record, there were "security" gates that NEVER worked. The officer that filed the police report said he lived there years ago, and they never worked when HE was there. (PS, its been 4 years, and they STILL DON'T WORK!!)

We moved to a better complex in the same zip code. TWO MONTHS after we left Cypress, we received a phone call from Cypress, saying they hadn't received our rent. My wife told them we didn't live there anymore, and they were shocked (and we didn't break the lease)!

Overall, a bad complex to be avoided.
