While the building is old, the units are clean, the grounds are well maintained, and the neighborhood is a great place to walk through. It is located a few blocks from Highland park which is patrolled very well. I have found management very easy to talk to and work through problems. I once had a problem with my garbage disposal and it was fixed within 24 hours. There is plenty of parking for tenants, but visitor parking is limited to the street. The complex is not loud. Most residents keep to themselves. I really enjoyed living in these apartments and would highly recommend them.

Quiet neighborhood!? Great prices!? Did they come down on the rents there? Have the kids stopped running around, screaming like banshees? Have the planes, at Love Field Airport stopped taking off and landing over the complex? When I lived there, it was full of crime, break-ins, loud, obnoxious people, screaming kids running around all over the place, noise pollution and mold was growing everywhere in my apartment, as well as many others! If anything, I sure hope they took care of the mold problem because, that's very unhealthy...for anyone!!! I thought it was the dumps! ALSO, if you're looking to rent an apartment anywhere in the Oak Lawn area and, you run into a woman (if that's what you want to call her) whose initials are A. B. who manages or, used to manage, The Shadow apartments on Bowser and The Heather apartments on Newton, STAY AWAY FROM HER AND DO NOT RENT FROM HER...SHE WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE A LIVING HELL!!!! I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!! SHE MAKES UP THINGS ABOUT HER TENANTS, SHE CONSTANTLY THINKS SOMEONE IS OUT TO DESTROY HER OR HER PROPERTY AND WHEN SHE TRIES TO VALIDATE BY ASKING OTHER TENANTS, NO ONE CAN CONVINCE HER OTHERWISE! SHE'S A NUTCASE AND I DON'T RECOMMEND RENTING FROM HER...EVER, EVER, EVER!!! TRUST ME ON THIS...I KNOW! I RENTED FROM HER YEARS AGO AND SHE MADE MY LIFE A LIVING HELL!!!!
