I left Dallas because of this place....

I was an Ai student in Dallas and did student housing here. Boy, was that a BIG mistake!!! For all you students thinking about doing student housing, maybe you should re-think it all before you sign that contract!! I made the mistake of assuming it'd be a nice place and now that I left, I still have to pay 2 more months of rent due to my cancellation.

First off, the housing department at the school obviously do not know what communication is. Every so often, I'd get these surprises from them. A new random roommate, suddenly moving to another apartment, changes with the utility companies, and so on. The school never notified me of these "wonderful" surprises and I ended up stressing over all the ridiculous stuff they would do. Plus they don't really listen to you if you have any complaints...

Speaking of people who do not listen, the maintenance at the Falls practically don't exist! Sure they'd come every once in a while, but when they say, "I'll be back", they actually mean, "Bye! See ya! Don't plan to return!" There was a BIG mold problem in one of my bathroom drawers and had maintenance fix it. They took it and said they'd replace. It's been well over a month and of course, it hasn't been replaced! I ordered a washer and dryer and did not receive them until a month later, when I finally decided to leave the Falls.

Oh! And if there is an emergency, maintenance do not live in the Falls, so you're more than likely to expect them an hour or 2 later than you'd like them to show up (that's if they do!). I had a friend who had his locks changed *of course the school didn't tell him* and he was locked out. He ended up calling maintenance and the guy was an hour away having beers with friends. It took hours for him to finally show up, drunk at his doorstep.

Noises are also an issue. I felt like the walls were paper-thin! People would be blaring their music up well after 2 am. There is no respect towards the community. I'd hear arguments perfectly across the street in the middle of the night. If you're a student, I hope you're a deep sleeper, because these people love to make noises at night!!!

Finally, I felt EXTREMELY unsafe there. If you're a student especially, and you need to take the train to and from the school/housing, you might get some unwanted strangers following you home. I don't recommend night time classes if you are going to be living in housing and relying on the DART. I've had a man attempt to look through my bedroom window late at night. For a few weeks, I was so worried about the potential break-in, that I had to move my sofa infront of the door every night. Also the gates to the complex are not secured well, and MANY strangers tend to wander around late at night. Cars are broken into often, and of course, apartments.

I believe there are a few prostitutes that live in the complex also. I have frequently seen two girls who'd together go to random doors at any time of day and of course... BE LOUD AND DISRESPECTFUL!

I HIGHLY do not recommend this place to anyone, unless they enjoy feeling unsafe, wasting their money, and feel like they are living in a trashy neighborhood. There seems to be much nicer apartments right down the road from the Falls that you should rather look at.

I agree i am a student here, it was a waste of my money, and the school reaps all the benefits I.E. our money! I am moving out once my lease is up! Please tell the school no towards their dumb money making pymarid!
