After reading other reviews of Forest Estates I felt I needed to put the truth out there as it has pertained to me.
This place has done a 180 turn around in 3 years. Just this week Management is re-pouring patios that are cracked or just replacing the whole patio, and even replacing boards on patio fences that are less attractive. The average car parked here after 5:00pm has improved from what is was when I moved in (2005). I rarely hear the "thump-bomp-thump etc." now. These kids that live here are very respectful, at least to me. Probably because I treat them with respect. Alma the manager will not allow the things of the past and has always been about the best mamager I've met. I worked for a builder for many years and have lived on many properties and I am proud to have seen the hard work this management and maintenance staff does and what they've accomplished.
There IS NOT the weekly gun shot, there IS NOT the monthly or bi-monthly "gun accident" as there was after KATRINA.
Give credit where credit is due!
This whole area has changed. We have a new Walmart in walking distance that price matches. The post office is a 5 min bus ride, and Kroger is just down Forest Lane.
The maintenance man is one of the best I've seen. He is thorough and comes mostly that same day. I wish people would give this place a break.
AND! only a fool would turn in their keys before having a move-out condition form signed prior to leaving or one that used thier deposit as last months rent.
Overall this is a great quiet and as friendly place you will find for such cheap rent. It's just good business to have everything neat, tidy and finished when leaving or moving out so there's not a suprise like that tenant describes. thanks for letting me vent ---harvey 3022

I don't believe it for one minute! I just drove through that area and its still rough! Everyone is entitled to their opinion and mine still stays the same! Tahara drove that place into the ground and there is no hope of making it right again! Sorry Alma! I will continue to remark on how bad this place really is! All anyone has to-do is drive though there and find out for themselves!

Bullcrap!!!!! You must be a member on staff!!! There is no way everything is peachy keen around there now!! This neighborhood is so whacked, ghetto and crazy it's ridiculous!! One night me BF was walking home from work and heard banging in a trunk of a parked car. He got nervous and decided to walk through a breezeway. When he got in the breezeway he saw the guy who's vehicle it was with the banging in the trunk. The guy must have noticed my BF moving quickly to get away and started to follow him home, when he came through the door we called the police, but by the time they came, the vehicle was alreay gone. Don't truct your life in an area where they will throw you in a trunk!! I sure wish I had known before I moved.

Is it really that BAD, I will be moving there at the end of this month and sure would hate to make that mistake. They say the proeprty has gotten better in the lst year.

I just moved in on july of 2009 and I moved from budget suite to forest lane estate it has been a blessing because i picked a good complex forest estate has new managements and at night you can hear a pin drop never no drama it is very quiet andi like that i am not noone who work with the company but i know that it is a great complex to have children i have been here for awhile and notonetime havei seen the horrible things that people are saying about forest estates everyone is entitle to their own opinion s and i would not tell you anything that you do not want to hear you just have to see for yourself.
