Wow, only after moving in here did I begin hearing about other people's struggles with Gables management. The opening staff was fantastic - however they're gone within two weeks of full capacity. Now I am presented with questions like "we have a parking garage'" "what's the zip code here'" and "what do you mean there's no landscaping by the pool'" FROM THE OFFICE STAFF! If anyone knows what's going on, it should be them.

My two largest concerns, however, are noise and privacy. First, we live on top of retail so you hear the new construction starting every day at 6:30. When you tell the office staff, they say that the problem needs to be addressed through the construction people and the building's owners; they cannot help. I used to have great hearing, and over the last six months have lost 25% of my range in my left ear. You also hear the noise of the West Village but that's to be expected when you live this close to valet parking and bars.

My other concern is that the office staff will share your name, your alias, your apartment #, and what kind of car you drive with other residents, as well if you renew. I wouldn't say this if I didn't hear it for myself. I've also watched them monitor "cute" residents on the security cameras with other residents for entertainment purposes. For $1200/mo I would have expected professionalism. I can name names if need be to verify my claim.

It should come as no surprise that only one resident renewed his/her lease on the 2nd floor after one year in the building - at least the management told me that! The parking gate is routinely broken providing direct access into the building - another FYI. The real perks' the pool gets amazing sun almost all day and Arturo on the maintenance staff is a great guy/very helpful.
