The new management is rude and unprofessional. We had left when they were changing companies and we were thinking about coming back to the Devonshire since management had changed; we thought it'd be for the better; but new management is unprofessional and rude. Very low class. Who cares if they are putting in a coffee shop, most of the new residents look like they would prefer Old English to a Macchiato. I asked about the 1 bedroom and 1 den and got 3 different quotes.
Also location wise, you can do better. My car got broken into less than 1 year before I moved in and I saw a detailed report for the 622 beat and there were so many BMVs for the Devonshire.
On top of that, it's near a bus stop so there is a lot of traffic going on as well.
And we had a big ant problem.

I lived at the Devonshire (was called Pepper Square back in 1998). I loved the creek, but management was always poor, and my car was broken into in the middle of the night. A few months later we got a note saying that they found the folks who did it, but we were never called upon to see if we could get any of our stuff back or get reimbursed for having to replace the car window. I moved in 2000 and it seemed to be getting worse everytime we drove past it -- and the name kept changing. When I needed them for a rental reference, they said they couldn't find my records showing I'd ever lived there, even though my credit report showed I owed them some bogus $92 for "damages".

My car was burglarized as well when I lived at the Devonshire. The management did not even put out a notice concerning it until I threatened to go to every neighbor to tell them what had happened. This occurred right outside of my bedroom. It is unsafe. They cater to Section 8 and there are many creepy people there. It looks like the new management might be Section 8 themselves. When we came back after it had changed (for the better we hoped) hands for more than 3 months, the Apartment Consultant tried to show us an apartment and kept trying to open up another resident's door. The manager was rude and the prices were raised considerably. The location may seem tempting, but it's not worth the convenience.
