some previous reviews have said that these townhomes were built in the 80's and it shows. the post from a year ago about squeaking floors is 100% true. you can't walk through a single room in these townhomes without thinking the floor is about to drop from underneath you.
when i first moved here i was just excited to be out in my own place, that i think i was willing to overlook all the negatives. now that i've been here a while, i can stand back and wonder why the hell i moved here. for the most part, the person in the management office has been nice, but she has moments of being incredibly rude and unprofessional. she was insanely rude to my gf, who doesn't even live here, and accused her of littering and leaving fast food bags on the ground, when my gf rarely even eats fast food. she was very accusatory from the very beginning without even asking any questions first to find out if we were even involved. nevermind the possibility that it could have been someone else that did it, or maybe the wind blew trash through the open gate. to this day, she has not apologized. she was disgustingly rude about the whole situation...so bad that i had to speak with the property owner to get an apology out of anyone.
the maitenance man is one of the nicest and friendliest people i have ever met, and he lives onsite, which is convenient, but he's the only one doing maintenance so it takes 2 or 3 notices to the front office to get things fixed. the day i moved in (which was a saturday) we were greeted by a rude and ugly neighbor who accosted us for simply moving in during the middle of the day on a weekend. really nice way to greet your new neighbor.
a few weeks ago, i was greeted at my front door by a swarm of termites that completely covered the top of the stairs and the wall next to the door. my skin was crawling the entire afternoon. bugs have been a major problem, and management doesn't seem to know what to do about it. i've seen a few roaches inside, and i can't remember a day when i haven't seen gnats flying around. all of this in spite of the fact that the kitchen is kept clean and the trash is taken out pretty much every day. management was supposed to send pest control to take care of it, but they either didn't do it, or it didn't help because i'm still living with gnats.
the garage is in poor condition. the garage door sounds like it's going to fall on my car every time i press the button. there's a whole in the side door (which didn't even have a door handle on it when i moved in) and water comes in whenever it rains. and it looks like rats have been gnawing at the walls in there.
there aren't any ammenities here, either. there's one pool, which is very small, and there's no fitness center, tennis court, or anything else recreational to do onsite. the front gate is broken AT LEAST once a month and, as of today, has been wide open day and night for the past 2 weeks. a few weeks ago, it wouldn't open and there was a line of cars outside trying to get in. it's been stuck open ever since. this isn't a good thing considering this isn't the safest or most quiet place to live in this area. when trying to sleep at night, there's always loud music blasting from some car outside from people loitering at the neighboring apt. complexes. a previous review stated these places to be government-subsidized housing. i don't know if that's true or not, but from the looks of them, i wouldn't doubt it. i don't feel very safe here.
there is no compelling reason to move to hidden bend other than the cheap rent. even then, you should give it a second thought. if you want to move to the n.dallas/addison area, there are much nicer places to live. yeah, the rent will probably be a little more, but you get what you pay for. i'll be moving as soon as i can.

In reference to the posting made by Pluckyduck . He should first look up the meaning of the words accosted and rude as opposed to something simply being brought to his attention (can u say overly sensitive boys and girls). As for the word ugly...hmmm, might that be the gf he continued to mention in his posting (a comb and brush should definitely be on her Christmas wish list). It's funny how when things don't go a person's way, EVERYTHING becomes a negative. As for the gf living here....that's questionable (I saw here more than I saw him...lol) It's amazing what people will put in writing. By the way, no one informed me that I was on the welcome committee...LOL! There are always two sides to every story.
The neighbor....

I've seen this exact behavior before by neighbors, I don't think that anybody could truly enjoy living here because its such a dump. This is probably one of the the more truthful reviews, so don't tarnish it mz_jala.

when i said "ugly" i was referring to your ugly attitude. i refrained from saying anything personal or outright mean, because that is usually beneath me. but since you already stooped to that level and made personal remarks about my fiance, i'll go there with you. your ignorance and ugliness have only served to prove my point about the experience i had with a "rude and ugly neighbor." congratulations, in your zeal to respond to me, you only proved my point about your nasty attitude. and yes, you did accost myself (do you even know what that "accost" means), and my friends who were helping to move me in, in BROAD DAYLIGHT, ON A SATURDAY! you complained about noise going up and down the stairs when you really need to get a clue. living in an apartment means living in close proximity to other people...there is going to be noise. if you want absolute quiet, you should move into a house and stop bitching and whining about someone moving in on a weekend in the middle of the day. complaining about something like that makes you out to be the oversensitive one, not myself. and since you want to make pointed, personal attacks against my fiance, let me just say that you should seriously consider looking in the mirror before you open your mouth about anyone else. walking out of the house looking like aunt jemimah is not doing you any justice, trust me. work on spending more time on your attitude and personality, and not spying on your neighbors to see who was coming, going, or standing on the balcony. yes, we did see you glaring out the window every time someone was outside. are you really that bored with your life? for all the complaining you did about noise, not once did i complain about the noise you made. initially, i thought it sounded like a cow going up and down the stairs. maybe my imagination wasn't that far off.

I just had to add that it's funny how you lived just feet from me and never opened you mouth to say a word, not even when I approached you once it was brought to my attention that your review included information about me. Months later you're still harping on crap that is 1)old and 2) can't be changed. You are more than welcome to address me with any other issues or concerns you have with me and hopefully it'll be settled once and for all. But surely you didn't expect to post something about someone, publicly I might add, and not have them to respond. Anytime you write something, it is left to a person's perception...so derogatory terms such as ugly, without clarification can be taken either way. You do a lot of finger pointing but what did you do to make matters better AND as previously stated...I am not, was not and will not be the welcome committee. No offense to you or any other neighbor.
I certainly hope that you've gotten everything, regarding me anyway, off your chest. Again, you are certainly welcome to speak with me in person if need be. However, seeing how this whole situation is months old...I would suggest you let it go.
Again, the best to you and yours!
