Not great, but not bad

I've lived here for two years and I've got no major complaints. I've never had a bad experience with the management. I haven't had anything that needs repairs or maintenance, so I can't comment on the quality of the maintenance staff. Just with just about any apartment complex, there is the occasional rude individual who likes to play music in their car louder than normal at weird hours of the night, but I hardly fault the management for rude tennants. If you're a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. It's only a couple of miles away from of Addison Airport and there are often loud jets flying right over the property at low altitudes at all hours of the day. Crime has been a concern as well. It is not uncommon to get a notice on your door that a car or unit has had a burglary recently. Again, I can't fault the management for the behavior of people in the area, but it is an issue to consider. Burglar alarms and inside deadbolts are installed in every unit as a precaution. I've never seen a roach or any other kind of vermin, however I have heard something, presumably a rodent, scurrying around behind the walls once or twice. Hearing activity in adjacent units doesn't seem to be a problem. I can't recall any instance where I have been disturbed by noise from the people in the units around mine. The one major complaint that I have is my energy bill. I don't think these units have great insulation or high-efficiency air conditioners. I have a 680 SqFt unit and my electricity bill is between $90 and $150 each month, and that's due mainly to the air-conditioner or the heater which is electric too.

All in all, I've been pretty happy here. I feel most of those people who say this is the worst place in the world to live would be unhappy with wherever they are. I've noticed that even the nicest apartment complexes listed on this site rarely exceed a 60% approval rating, so that leads me to think that 40% of contributers are little more than loudmouth malcontents who just love to complain.
