CRAZY COST OF LIVING!!!

I was pregnant when my fiancee and I decided to move into these apartments. We chose a 1 bedroom, since it was only going to be the two of us for 6 months. I did check this website and read the reviews that other people have posted and noted that the main complaint was electric bills being around $150 for 1 bedrooms. I rationalized and thought that if that is the worst complaint, the apts can't really be THAT bad. Well, they are worst.

We pay our rent online, so we just overpay what we think that we owe for the rent, water, and garbage. With the remaining balance, we just asked for it to rollover to the next month and receive the proper credit. Not once have the apartments given us any credit from what we have overpaid.

Also, when we moved in, I could not sleep from all of the noise from Frankford. The apartment complex is RIGHT ON Frankford and Midway, two very busy streets. The windows are so think that they continously shake when the wind blows.

The worst part about this apartment is that for a 1 bedroom, our electrity bill has been almost $300 each for the past 2 months!! Our apartment is always so cold and drafty. (As I said before, the windows are ridiculously thin.) We have had to nail down blankets in front of our blinds and in front of our curtains to try to provide some insulation, but that has not helped with the energy bill or heat. WE DON'T EVEN HAVE A WASHER AND DRYER to make the bill go up!!! We are literally paying almost $1500 in rent and utilities to live here in a 1 bedroom. I DO NOT recommend anybody who is living on a realistic budget to move into these apartments!

Our lease is up the end of March and we will not stay here a day longer!

In all fairness, I will say that the staff are very friendly. The grounds are always clean. I feel relatively safe here, even though there have been a few break-ins. Parking is good if you are lucky enough to get a reserved space in front of your own building, but that rarely happens. If you have two or more cars in the family, then the driver of the other car will ahve to drive and walk for awhile to find a parking space.

The management is always trying to improve the grounds, but this is to the inconvenience to the tenants. They do not think to do one building at a time (painting, for example) so the whole complex is put out instead of one building at a time.

I smell B.S. Prices for 1 bedrooms are less than $600, and even if your electric bill is $300, that's only $900. How do you account for the other $600 you claim you pay every month? I lived in a 1 bedroom, and the HIGHEST electric bill I EVER had there was just almost $100.

my electricity bill has been near $400.00 all year, i wonder what you had to do to get your bill to be only $100.00 ... dont tell me, you are employed by hunters hill... sounds like the B.S. is coming from you... overall my total cost to live in this dump is over $1,100.00 monthly, i cant wait to move out... $745.00 for rent $398.00 for electricity $30.00 for water $18.00 for trash that is at least 1,190.00 just to live here ... dont believe me ?? i can show you the bills...

Electricity for a one bedroom for me is around $200-$300 which is more than I have ever paid in my life and my dads four bedroom house costs less for electricity. Hhhmmm wonder why???

My electricity in my two bedroom is usually between 90 and 110 dollars a month. What are these people running to have such high bills? This can't be a result of poor insulation. Maybe invest in a programmable thermostat...
