Could be better

Overall not a bad place to live, but much can be improved upon.
-Staff is lacking but tries hard (I guess).
-Maintence is prompt when they want it to be, but have had problems with the downstairs ceiling fan at night.
-There have been 2-3 cave-in in the parking structure which leaves and entire floor of parking unavailable for weeks at a time.
-DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT move into a unit overlooking Coit. The noise will drive you CRAZY. (About 1/2 block away from fire station-this is reason for 1 star)
-Pest control problem (If you say you will send someone I expect someone to come and fix it and not have to make a 2:00am Wal-Mart run after work.)
-Gates are NEVER closed.
-Garbage occasionally backed up.
-Had to transfer units once due to severe mold in the walls.

Overall, not a bad apartment but a little effort would go a long ways. Jogging trail is nice and have had no problems with crime or theft. Nice neighborhood with easy access to highways.

Much Love

What a shock -- I can respond before Pollo defends ANY negative critique with sarcasm. Actually, this critique is balanced and fair, IMO. I've been living here two years, through the change to present mgt, and mostly agree with this review.

It is indeed a nice place to live, considering location and RELATIVE safety. While it's much safer than almost anywhere else in the area, car break-ins are getting more frequent, and criminals are bolder (stealing TV's from the gyms, for instance.) In defense of mgt, they did replace the TV's about as quickly as any office staff would, meaning a few weeks. The gates issue will never go away; you can't leave them closed during rush hours and then expect them to work perfectly, constantly. OTOH, it is mgt's responsibility to figure out SOMEthing in response to the rising crime. They have just announced an upcoming Neighborhood Watch meeting, so we'll see. Ignoring the thefts is NOT the answer, mgt, and I think they've finally gotten that message.

Regarding maintenance, it is indeed slack, due mainly (IMO) to work order generation from the office, and then secondly due to lack of enough staff. In particular, you have to ask Shawn repeatedly before he grudgingly writes something down. Then the response from the actual workers is OK.

Last but soon to be worst, they're very much behind on the pool work, due to lack of personnel. Warm weather is upon us, and the pool seems many weeks away from being open. The lap pool should be open right now for hard-core swimmers. That's going to be a big source of complaints if they don't commit the money to do it right, right now.
