On numerous occasions, we informed the staff of the Marquis at West Village of various issues with our unit and the property in general. Though some of the requests could be considered cosmetic and quality-of-life issues, other concerns affect our safety and health and therefore warrant that we terminate our lease. We are very disappointed that the majority of the issues have never been resolved, though promises by various staff members indicated that these issues would be addressed directly.

Below are a few of the issues:
Mold growing in sheet rock in bathroom (4 feet x 2.5 feet). Instead of an appropriate removal, the maintenance crew merely cut out the sheet rock with visible staining and painted over the remaining mold. New samples have been preserved.
Inoperable entry doors to premises, allowing non-residents into the building
Unlit areas of the parking garage creating blacked-out areas
Trash chutes full to the fourth level
Trash chute doors inoperable
Inoperable elevators
Locking mechanisms not always operational on pool gate
Doors to mechanical and elevator rooms left open which could be a safety hazard
Security officials rarely tend to their job, instead they congregate together and overlook issues if they are their peers
Trash outside numerous doorways for days, though we are ticketed for putting a trash bag outside the door minutes before walking to the trash chute.

The main issues of concern are the mold and the fact that we do not feel safe in the garage. We are also disappointed that although we requested upgrades to our unit during the time of renewal of our lease, the upgrades are still in the process of being completed, despite the duration of several months. We also do not trust that the staff members carry out the best intentions of the property.

We were very excited when we moved here but now can't wait to move.
