Can't Wait

I am moving into Marsh Creek at the end of this month and can't wait. I have been living in an asphalt jungle (CENTERPOINT) feet away from the railroad tracks. There is very little grass and a few trees. I walk my dogs and in the few grassy areas nobody (except me) cleans up after their animals. I realize that Marsh Creek may have some of the same issue but their is a ton of green space and they have placed dog centers all over the place.

These are the things that have drawn me to Marsh Creek...There are only 12 units in each building and no exposed stairs. The patios are large and spacious and some units have small yards. It is built around the creek in little cuddlesacks which makes parking a little odd. It has a really homey feel. You aren't going to get a lot of extras (no gym). However, I think that people who move here want a place that doesn't feel like they are in the city. I have also noticed that people are making an effort to make their units homey by adding beatiful decorations and chairs to set outside and enjoy the surrondings. You get the feeling that people take pride in their homes.

The management has been terrific. I have proably bugged them more than any tennant and they have been patient and helpful. They loaned me the keys to an empty unit so I could measure the windows and walls. They also let me choose from available units...My apartment is right on the creek and their is no parking in front of it. That means I have to walk a ways from my car but no alarms going off and no headlights. YEAH!

I read that someones car had been stolened. We live in Dallas. In my current complex which is gated and has two security guards on duty from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Cars are still stolened and there are still problem with domestic violence and crime. Unfortunately, that is a problem with living around other people; sometimes they don't know how to act. I also know that their has been a murder at my apartment. The guy killed his best friend and he killed someone across the street. It happens. Watch the news it also happens in nice neighborhoods where people are buying their houses.

I have a $99 move in with no deposit. They are letting me pay my $800 pet deposit (2 Yorkshire Terriers -- $400 a dog) over several months. They are also letting me rent the apartment a couple of days early so I can move out of my old apartment. I am also recieving a free microwave. It was part of my move in special.

The kitchen is large. I currently live in a 2 bedroom 2 bath -- 1000 square feet. My kitchen has 2 cabinets. You can not open the oven, dishwasher or refrigerator at the same time; it is called a galley kitchen like in a boat. The kitchen at Marsh Creek is in a classic Triangle shape and it is curved. There are five cabinets above and below.

The bathroom is spacious with a real linen closet. It doesn't have a medicine cabinet but I am going to buy one at IKEA. There a walkin closet in the bedroom and a wet bar in the den. I am renting a one bedroom den combo. It is basicly the two bedroom two bath except the small bedroom has a wet bar instead of a closet and the bathroom is a lot larger. It is also missing the extra hall closet. Ikea wardrobe will fix that problem.

Ceiling Fans. There is not ceiling fan in the bedroom but the management has told me that if I want a ceiling fan, I will be allowed to hire an electrican and have one installed. I think that is fair.

I went a couple of nights to check it out and it is well light and people stopped to see what I was doing. That tells me the neighbors take care of each other. AWESOME!

I was impressed with the property also when I first checked it out and even after I moved in over a year ago. This place used to be so quiet and I was happy to see older people (seniors) living here. But now, there has been a MAJOR decline of people since the summer! Trashy loud people who have no respect for noise level... they blare radios in and out of their homes and they don't care what time it is when they do it. For crying out loud, there are families here and our kids need sleep!!

I think the best solution to that is to nicely ask the person blaring the music to turn it down. I am also facing the creek with no cars in front of my apartment. YEAH

Oh, please... just like whatever86 said, people are oblivious to how noisy they are. For instance, I HAVE asked the jerks nicely to turn down their music... and I have asked many times. They even apologize but do it again within a week (if not the very next night)! And forget about management giving a damn
