I have been a tenant at Mitchell Lofts for over a year. The architecture is beautiful, and the lofts themselves are very nice and modern. It was an amazing place when I moved in. We were treated as adults, because we are adults. The problem is the management and fact that they do nothing to maintain standards among the tenants.
Since I moved in, the management team has had a ridiculous amount of turnover, and issues are very difficult to get resolved. For 6 months, we had "on site" management, which was a girl who lived in one of the lofts. She was NEVER there and when she was there she was completely useless. It took 6 months to get maintenance issues resolved. Noise issues were continually ignored by this woman, and countless calls to the courtesy officer were also ignored. Escalating the issue was no use either.
The new management has good intentions, however they are not dealing with the tenants who are causing the problems. There are some tenants in the building with no respect for other tenants. Those few tenants ruin it for those of us who abide by the rules stated in our lease.
The illegal activity that occurs on a daily basis makes me fearful for my own safety. Drug use and prostitution are two commonalities that did not exist when I moved in. On a Saturday evening, there is so much pot in some of the halls that you could get a contact high.
Management seems too concerned about leasing the empty lofts to other hoodlums with no respect for other tenants. If they can collect money on something, they are all over it, however when it concerns the safety and well being of another tenant, if money is not involved it goes ignored.
Just for the record though, our maintenance guy is amazing, he is the nicest, kindest man. Too bad the management doesnt inform him of all of our complaints.

You live in a very eclectic section of Dallas (Deep Ellum) so pot smoke shouldn't surprise you.
As far as the illegal activity, have you contacted the police as this is a legal issue?
