Mitchell Lofts

I just have a few things to say about the Mitchell lofts.

1. The rent is steep for a high-crime neighborhood its in.

2. There is no "secured" parking, sure there is a gated parking lot that you have to pay for after the steep rent. While living at the Mitchell there had to have been over a few dozen break-ins to cars, and thats just inside of the gated parking area. Don't think about parking outside on the street, several times a week I would go outside to walk my dog and numerous cars would be broken into, convertibles having the tops cut open.

3. The management is rude and never responds in a timely manner. The first company that managed the property were great, then another one bought and all tenants suffered.

4. With this loft living comes alot of cleaning. More dust than I have ever seen in my life. The windows don't have screens so all that dust from construction comes right on in.

5. Homeless people are unavoidable. Creeps are unavoidable. Not a day went by that I didn't feel uncomfortable about walking outside with my dog or just walking to my car to leave.

6. Moving out is another matter. This is where they really get money. They will nickel and dime you every square foot. I understand a deposit for minor dings and cleaning, but they accused us of previous damage from other tenants before us.

One good thing about the Mitchell is that the view of downtown Dallas is awesome on the roof, but watch out for the falling lead on New Years Eve.
