I read these reviews with sadness, as I finally had to move out of the Mitchell Lofts after living there for over 5 years.When we first moved there, it was one of the best places in town, and our first space was a smaller one that faced downtown. We liked it so much we moved into one of the large corner spaces and literally watched the place collapse around us right before our eyes. Between the chance of the neighbors pit bulls trying to attack your dog on the way out the door, or watching as management didn't do a thing when someone chopped the dash out of my vintage vw bus and tear it to shreds, all while parked in the 'secure' parking area. Their security cameras didn't catch it because....they don't work. Nor do the ones inside, so don't think you're safe when you show up in the dark think you have security. The front stairwell often reeked of urine and when I mentioned it to the management (three people ago) they said it was a person that was doing it, and not animals (although I often found dog urine stains greeting me at the front door in the mornings). Our other vehicle was broken into out front, but that was probably my fault for thinking you could actually park in front of where you live. I didn't mind the 2 a.m. screaming barhoppers that came past every busy night, but I did mind the high a/c bills due to having single pane windows that leaked. Speaking of leaking, my roof leaked too, right down onto my television and ruining my stereo. They told me 'tough luck' when I asked them about it. They also didn't refund the over $600.00 they owed me regarding my deposit because they had been bought and sold and I signed my deposit with the previous owners. In the end, it was a very bad experience and it would be the last place in Dallas I would recommend living. Keep looking elsewhere!!!
