New World Apartments

Its Your Decision From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 3/27/2008 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2008   New World Apartments are not the place for a single parent that works during the day or night to be honest When I moved in, the apartment was very dirty, I cleaned it up (it s not like I had a maid service to do it for me) even though it was supposed to be clean the day I signed my lease. My family could not go outside because of the constant drug transactions going on in my breeze way. When I did complain, I was told that We are working on it, make sure you call the police called the police, they came out, checked the premises and left. This happened a few times but things did not change. There was constant activity in the vacant apartments around me, complained about that too. They said no one could get in without a key. It was a bunch of BS. The constant shootings couldn t be controlled by the apartments but the d@mn police could have did something sooner. Now the police patrol the corner of Woodmeadow and Ferguson regularly. Crime is down for the most part. Then we get to the ridiculous electric bills that you could never get answers to. When calling the commercial electric company, I was told to call my apartment complex and when calling the apartment complex I was told to call the Electric Company. I know that sometimes the bill can be expensive but this was a monthly occurrence (no one is at my apartment from 7 until 6 and everything is turned off or unplugged except for the fridge, stove, etc.; a bill over $250. RIDICULOUS! On to the maintenance; it was pretty much non existent, I was always told that they had to call someone from another property to come fix my simple problem, which took a few days. I paid my rent on time monthly and I paid the expensive electric bill. If you are a family and want a place that is kid friendly, this is not the place for you. There is no place for the children to play, the refugee (Africa and Asia) kids play soccer in the street but I wouldn t dare let my children in the parking lot when there are fools that drive into the parking lots like they are entering on the Freeway. There are no social events; they notified you hell of late when a crime has occurred, most of the time they didn t notify you at all. The office staff is very unprofessional; they have 0 understanding of any circumstances that may occur so don t go give them the story that you have been in the hospital for the last week, they want to know why you didn t send someone else to pay your bills. This place sucked so I moved out. But then again, this is your decision, if you can t get any where else to live then go over there. Oh yeah, 1 more thing. These apartments are pest and rodent infested. They do spray once a month but it brings more bugs into you house, I prefer they dont spray since i have learned from 1st hand experience that it is better. -ME
