Yo!

Truly Not A Wise Choice

Be ready to live next to the projects. It's not as bad as East St. Louis, but it is bad. We have homeless people who come into the apartment complex parking lots and go through our trash dumpster. Beware of things breaking..stove (repeatedly) frame on a door fell off during the first week we were here. We had really bad mold in our air vents (caused me to have a sinus infection), our gate was broken-it took them over a month and a half to fix it, there is dog poop all over the grounds by the mail boxes, our lights have been fixed 2 or 3 times, the parking lot is a mess. Beware of really loud music from the neighborhood. They have parties almost every weekend. We have seen our neighbor peeing on his tree like "3" times. No joke. They waited to cash my deposit check 7 months later when I had already closed my checking account back home. Which caused me to have a over draft. They waived the $25.00 fee...but I still had to pay the over draft, they never apologized, and they haven't cashed the new one.

It's a good price for this area. Meaning the location to other areas. But the immediate area that is around the complex is a dump. The apartment complex can't control the area but they can contol the complex. I really like the maintenance guys-they are very sweet. The leasing people are ok..never had them be mean to me.
I have never lived in an apartment where I have had several things break, the music is so loud my pictures are banging against the wall, there are roaches in our kitchen (and we keep it very clean), and we live next to the projects.
Just be prepared. If you do go visit and you like to place. Ask to see the "EXACT" apartment you will be living in, check the air-vents, see that the oven and appliances work, check to see if the gate to your building locks, ask the neighbors around your apartment what it's like to live there, and drive around the neighborhood. If you get an uneasy feeling then follow your gut feeling. My gut feeling was bad, but I didn't follow it. Good Luck!!
