The apartments are spacious, but old. Definitely need to be updated. Our electric bill is always very high. Quiet neighborhood, but horrible to try to find parking!

You may want to change your electric provider instead of blaming high electric bills on the apartment. Plus, horrible parking? What? There's always open parking spots all over the property!

For those not familiar with how electricity works: changing electric (utility) provider is often not feasible, nor does it often change the electricity bill much, if at all. High bills often mean that tenants have consumed more electricity with running appliances and heating/AC equipment, or they've just been running every piece of electronic equipment for long durations for senseless reason. In essence, it usually reflects poor construction quality and careless insulation during the initial development of the property. Regardless of the current management, to fix these insulation problems would be an economic disaster for anybody. Better to just lower the rents and provide more amenities to appease the tenants to compensate for these higher utility bills. "Parking spots all over the property" does not always translate into convenience for the tenants. This just means that parking is available, but just not where you may want it. But then again, who actually likes walking a mile everyday after work in the hot afternoons in Dallas?
