The area is cracktown make no mistake about it. A piece of advise for any one living here or considering moving here when, not if your car or apartment gets broken into, when calling the police tell them that the perp had a gun they might actually show up then. I have seen these apartments on multiple crime shows ie... The First 48, Cops and Dallas SWAT. If you want to visit a real life crime scene or possibly be involved in a crime move here by all means. In todays day and age waking up is dangerous, however this is a danger you can avoid like the plague. The other morning there was a massive INS sting operation carting off a number of illegals including my downstairs neigbors and the guy directly across the parking lot. I suppose that was a plus since none of them went out shooting! There is a formula that slumlords apply to rundown apartments like these and it goes something like this. 1st buy and apartment for as little as possible, 2nd rent to people who are happy to have anywhere to live at all and if you make the mistake of inadvertantly renting here too well you will be the nice neighbors they refer to in the brochure, 3rd spend as little as possible on maintnence (sic) that includes the people you hire to work in the office and the grounds, 4th ignore as many requests that will cost you money as possible, 5th visit your slum annualy in your new Corvette. With this simple plan you can own or manage a property that the only difference between it and The Providence is the address. Enjoy your stay at the Providence and keep your eyes open for stray bullets and drugs on the ground it is a great way to stay alive and supplement your income.
