I was one of the first people to rent here after it was built. I always liked the building they built this place right. Solid cement ceilings and floors as well as walls mean NO noise from neighbors. Also, you don't have to walk on eggshells so as to not disturb your neighbors. The attitudes of the renters would be my only complaint. The tenants did not treat the common areas with any respect. This is common of renters in any place I've lived so the complaint is more directed towards renters in general rather then just at the Renaissance. I transferred to San Francisco for a year and a half and moved back to Dallas. I found that Crescent Heights had purchased the building and was remodeling the building to sell the units as condos. I bought a small unit in the b building. It is on one of the upper floors and has a CLEAR view of downtown as well as Turtle Creek and Mansion, Plaza etc. The construction office (that is in the building until the remodels are complete) performed all of my personal remodels at a very fair price and those were all lumped into the mortgage. So I got a place with Hardwood floors, Custom lighting, Granite counters and Full granite backsplash (up to cabinets). All new Stainless appliances (Fridge, Oven/Range Micro hood, Dishwasher, and Compactor). Custom cabinets, Berber carpet, marble and granite in bath, Full size Washer and dryer and more all of my own choosing. All this was lumped into the mortgage which was professionally handled by an onsite agent. And the best part the price. I priced this remodel at expo and it would have cost over $40,000. They did it for around 12,000!! So I got a condo with all this in a building that is one of the nicest in Dallas, on Turtle Creek, with an incredible view of downtown, my own private balcony and so much more. Prices in the area range from about $300 per sqft to over $800/sqft. The lower ranges of that estimate are in older buildings that need a remodel. After all the remodels fees etc. I still ended up paying less then $200/sqft!!! And the building is brand new and owned by one of the best companies in the biz. Seriously look up Crescent Heights. The parking is wonderful. I was able to request my parking spot which is right next to the door, and on the same level as the entrance to the garage. My motorcycle Is parked in a spot protected by cement walls, and there is always an available spot for my girlfriend. They also have garages that you can buy if you want. The amenities are great. Great workout area, great pool with huge patio and barbq's, sauna, massage room, tanning bed, and more. Yes, I do have to put up with rude renters for now and messes from the renovations. But that will soon be old news and I'll be left with everything that I mentioned above as well as an investment that has nowhere to go but UP.
