Bad management company and rats in the wall

The Richdale Group is the worst management company to work with. Mostly everything is done at the corporate level so you will have to call long distance to speak to anyone. The office team that they have on-site is not very friendly and lacks customer service. I chose the Saxony because it looked nice from the outside. Big mistake!! There were rats running around in the walls at night while you are trying to sleep. There is mold all around the bath tub from poor caulking. My neighbors had to move out because the third floor apartment flooded and crashed into the second floor leaving a gaping whole in the ceiling. Parking close to your apartment is horrible. There is trash all around the poorly lit walk ways on the week end. (I guess maintenance is off on the week end) Not a secure access gate (it is always broken) Not to mention your DEPOSIT. You can kiss your $450 good-bye because they will charge you for everything that they can so that you dont get a refund. They even charged for photos they took of my apartment after I had moved out. This was the worst living experience I have ever had as a renter and will never forget it. Do yourself a favor and look for another apartment. This place is a joke and the staff is rude!

I agree that it is irritating to call corporate for everything. I have heard that you won't get any of your deporits back, which sucks. But I have never had any problems with rats, bad caulking or trash. The ttrash cans by the mail box fill up on the weekend, but they are always emptied out first thing on Monday morning. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience!

Unfortunately, this type of review is not unusual for The Saxony. I lived there for several years and very happily was not living in a building with mold, flooding, or rats, but I heard from MANY RESIDENTS that their buildings had these horrible problems. On-site management is BEYOND DISGUSTING and there was no point in even talking to them - they never knew anything, never kept track of anything, and don't even have COMPUTERS!!! (unless perhaps that has been rectified by now) I always contacted the home office directly whenever I had a problem - which was rare, anyway - and they always got it taken care of. As for the stories about not getting your deposit back, well, I got everything but a small (and very reasonable) cleaning fee, so unlike many former residents who, for whatever reason(s), did not get their deposits back, I was treated very fairly in that regard. Basically, The Saxony could be a FLAGSHIP PROPERTY for The Richdale Group, but I guess the owner has made his money and now just does not care that the property is becoming a white trash haven - everyone is tattooed and I hear that car break ins are almost commonplace now!! When I hear these stories from my friends who still live there, I am very sad because my years at The Saxony were happy ones, and the apartment was - to this day - the most beautiful apartment home I've ever had (I now live in a house), and, at the time, I was sad about moving out. I would hope that with the North Dallas development renaissance the owners of The Saxony will spend the money and turn The Saxony into an apartment home community that beats ANYTHING in Uptown, that they will raise the rents accordingly, and get all the RIFF RAFF out of the complex and return it to being the wonderful, safe, beautiful property it was when I lived there years ago.

I have lived here for 2 years and have not had any of the experiences mentioned in the posts. Rats?! This place is so clean. I'm from New York . . . you've never seen rats! And as far as not having computers, that is a stupid thing to claim. It almost makes me think that you work for the competition. I mean, have you been in the leasing office? But what I find most disturbing is the racial slurs and discrimination. . . "white trash"? Just because people aren't walking around in suits and ties and some have tattoos, does not mean that they're not good, hard-working people. If you can afford it and your background check passes, then you should be able to live here. I know for a fact that there is security here and I've never heard of anyone's car getting broken in too. I really like it here and it's not fair that a few racists, elitist people put this community down just because they "don't live here" anymore and they feel they can judge the middle-class.
