Lived here for almost a year

Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
I have lived in some crummy apartments in Dallas. This is by far the best of them. Iv lived in Honey Creek, Point at Lakeway, and off of Skillman (I cant remember the name, its changed twice anyway)
When I first toured the apartments, some of the apartments had signs of roaches. I chose an apartment on the other end with no signs of bugs. Its worked out pretty well, Iv seen maybe 3 in the whole time I have lived here. Rent is pretty cheap. $409 for a one bedroom. I live on the 3rd floor and I dont have problems hearing the neighbors. Though I expect that these apartments have low occupancy. (kinda scary) I have only one neighbor on my floor. This is a ghetto area, but this is the first apartment complex Iv lived in where the gate works 90% of the time. I havnt had or heard of any problems with break ins. There is a transvestite looking hooker that walks along the road near the entrance of these apartments day and night. I havnt seen any problems though. The tow company that works this complex are f-ing vultures. You must have a parking sticker or a visitors pass from the office OR YOU WILL GET TOWED! Iv heard from neighbors of problems getting towed ANYWAY! Maybe the office and the tow company have an under the table deal' They do have security here every night. Sometimes I get home late and I always see them near the entrance, driving around, or walking around. So unlike other apartments who say they have security patrol, these apartments actually do have it and they arnt sleeping.
When I signed the lease I asked for a 6 month, when it came time to renew, they said I signed a year lease..WTF' I didnt push the issue much since I was going to renew anyway. Parking near my apartment is not difficult. I always get a parking spot where I can see my car from the window. I know in some areas of the complex, its hard to find a good parking space.
Landscaping here is horrible and you will have to change route through the complex to avoid mud on the sidewalk. Especially when it rains. Be careful driving around these apartments because, yes there are 1,000,000 little kids running around unsupervised. Some as young as 2. What the hell is going through these lazy ass parents heads'! There was a 2 and 4 year old playing on the SECOND FLOOR STAIRS in a little push car thing with no parents in sight. '''''
Maintenance is good and they respond within a day or two without you having to hassle them. Im used to having to go in to the office of an apartment complex, signing a work order request, getting a copy of that request, calling them a week later to beg them to come by,go by the office again, show my copy of the work order to PROVE that I asked them to come by a week ago...So no problems with maintenace here.
Anyway, I couldnt afford a better place BUT this is so far the best apartment complex Iv stayed in, including the apartments right off the lake.
(Sorry this is long) This area has a bad rap but I think the management here does actually make an effort here.
