I lived at South Side on Lamar for 2 years and loved every moment of it and was sad when I had to move out!
From the very beginning of my tour I knew that I would love it here and I was sold the moment the front doors opened to the building. The staff was beyond nice and understandable. A large majority of the staff lives at South Side, which to me proved from the beginning their love and devotion towards the building. The 24 hour concierge staff is always a warm welcome when you get home. They remember your name and always make it a point to say hello and ask how your day went and what was new in your life. If I ever had an issue or question I would call or stop by the leasing and management office and they were very quick to find a solution to my issue and unlike other apartment complexes where I lived in the past, they genuinely cared. They go out of their way to make sure their residents are happy.
Maintenance and housekeeping were fabulous and did a wonderful job! The halls and grounds around the building were always clean and they were always another friendly face that would say hi to you when you passed them in the hallway.
Safety! A lot of people have this misconception of South Dallas...well let me let you in on a little secret. it isn't so bad. Sure you don't get the high Dallas social status of saying you live in Turtle Creek or uptown; however you get the luxury of living in a place that you feel safe in and a place that you can genuinely and proudly call home. As you drive over the "forbidden 30 South" bridge you will notice guys riding bikes or walking around in yellow shirts. They are called RHI. They are the 24 hours courtesy patrol for the area. IF you even have any issues or concerns they are there to help you. They answer to noise complaints at all hours of the day and night and they patrol the whole area. They are alway so friendly and just another friendly face that would ask you how your day was. They help you with groceries or anything else. They are amazing! and it is just another reason why this area is so wonderful. It is a community!!!
Events were another great benefit about living at South Side on Lamar. There are always fun things going on around you. From a wine and cheese resident event, to loft parties, pool parties, 4th of July parties, movies on the roof, music in the coffee shop and Ro Diaz painting to music in the artist quarter. This place overflows with vibrant events that I would hate when I missed them!! Not to mention you are two blocks from Palladium, Gilley's, Poor Davids Pub, Bills Records and Tapes, Lee Harvey's and The Loft, and there are always great shows playing there. You are one block from the DART rail, which will jet you to downtown and beyond.
The whole aura of the building is amazing. The developer kept so much of the history within the building you feel as though you are living in the past. The original maple and concrete floors, brick walls and elevator shafts in the lofts are amazing and unique and something that you can't find anywhere else in Dallas. South Side on Lamar is a hidden gem within Dallas.
As I stated previously, I was extremely sad to leave but had to move out of Dallas. However, if I ever move back I know exactly where I am moving back to, South SIde on Lamar. I highly recommend living at South Side on Lamar. It becomes your home the moment you sign your name on your lease.

If the person was so happy living at Southside, I wonder why they did not leave their name

WOW! I'm sorry that you apparently did not have the same experience living at South Side on Lamar as I did. AND WOW! I don't know how i missed out on all of the "dirty little secrets"...good luck revealing all of those!! I honestly don't know what you are talking about. It is an apartment complex, not a conspiracy theory!
It is also sad that just because I enjoyed living at South Side and have positive things to say about the building that you automatically assume that I am being paid by the office. Sorry to disappoint you but I am NOT being paid by the office to "up their ratings".
Once again, sorry you had a horrible experience living there.
