My wife and I have lived here for 1 1/2 years and we think it is great! We found the place through Promove and also on Rent.com. True not everything is perfect, but those things are just minor things. For example, you have to get your phone, internet, and cable through AT&T since the lines are owned by AT&T, but that is not that big of a deal. The other thing is that some of the dog owners don't feel the need to pick up after their pet along the trail that leads to the lake, but that is not an apartment management issue, that is just common courtesy. To be fair, management has repeatedly let the residence know about such policies. Regarding the safety issues that others have mentioned both hear and on the review of The Reserve, the apartment is as safe as any apartment in this area. There are at least two Dallas Police Officers in the apartment complex that I know of and I know where both of them live, just because I have seen them come and go (one lives two doors down). Please note, that the gates have been fixed. In fact, they installed completely new gates, which showed me that they were trying to make some improvements.
Regarding the staff...this is the best part of this complex. The three ladies that work in the office have been very nice anytime that I or my wife have interacted with them. Furthermore, the maintenance staff is also equally helpful. I had to put in a request because we thought that we were having a problem with the dishwasher, and a door knob had broken, well, the guy came up to the apartment fixed both things and everything has been fine ever since. I recently went down to pay my rent and the manager spoke to me, and asked how things were going in the apartment and if anything needed attention, so to say that they don't care is just false.
Of course, a highlight of the place is indeed the location. My wife runs at the lake at least 4 times a week and I accompany her about 2 or 3 times. At the next intersection to the north of the complex, there is an Albertsons Grocery Store, Blockbuster, Quiznos, Bank of America, Washington Mutual, Wachovia, a Chevron station, Scholotzky's, Starbucks, 24 hour fitness, and a tanning salon. So the place is nice...it is working out well for us. We plan to live here as long as we are in Dallas, which should be for about 2 more years.
