Nice place among the many choices in Uptown, but I hear jets from Love Field

The Park at Turtle Creek is one of the better apartment complexes in the Uptown area. The units have good floorplans and are well-built considering many of the other choices nearby, and the finish-out is well done. I live on the top floor and have 9' and 10' ceilings. There are large ceiling fans in all the rooms, washer/dryer in each unit (at no extra charge), crown molding in most rooms, and the kitchen is fitted with new appliances (albeit lowest-end) with Pergo floors and mirrored backsplashes.

However, the biggest issue that I have with living here is that the complex is in a direct flight path of Love Field. Now this is not the fault of the complex - it is an issue with the entire Uptown area - but a new renter should be aware that when living in the top floor, you will hear all the flight traffic from Love Field - which starts at 6am - and it can be very loud during the day. Thankfully the air traffic dies down around 6pm, but early in the mornings it can be very irritating to hear the planes when you are trying to get that last 30 minutes of sleep. I should point out that this is most likely just an issue with living on the top floor, since the buildings seem to be well insulated otherwise. I do not hear neighbors on any side of me at all, and being on the top floor, I don't really hear the loud air conditioning compressors either. I have also talked with people that live on the second floor, and they do not hear the jet noise much.

Otherwise, I am happy living here. I have found the office staff to be accomodating and responsive. There is a very nice pool and work-out facility in the complex. Also, you are only a block walk from the West Village shopping/bar area. If you live on the top floor, just invest in a good set of earplugs so you can sleep in the mornings if needed.
