I really don't know where to start.

I rented here when I first moved to Dallas. I needed a cheap place that was somewhat close to my new job. This was the cheapest I could find. I guess that the saying is true... "you get what you pay for". Aside from being unbearably small units.
They are dirty. From the grounds to parking lots to the common ways between apartments, they are very dirty. The grounds consistently have trash laying around, and the parking lots are no better. The common ways between apartments have dirt and grime on the walls, and random trash. I think that in the 3 years that I lived in this unit they were thoroughly cleaned once.

I have felt very unsafe living there for the past year of my lease. It seems like gang activity has increased in the community and the staff couldn't care-less. There are now gang insignias painted on the stairwells of my building, and when I brought it to the attention of one of the leasing agents, she took pictures of it but nothing ever was done about it. It has now been 8 months from the time that I notified them of the gang's graffiti and it is still there. The selling of drugs has been increasing as well. One late night when my girlfriend and I arrived home we were approached in the parking lot by a very scary looking individual who asked us if we wanted to buy some "powder" or if we knew of where he could get some. I have seen a couple cars broken into since living there and my girlfriends car was broken into as well. They stole everything out of it too. When I notified the office of it there was no apologies nor was there even a letter sent to the other tenants warning them that there had been a car that was broken into. The best way to prevent crime is to work together and make others aware of it happening so that everyone can work together in resolving the issues.

The staff at Timberglen has been everything but helpful, not to mention the place is constantly having turnover and bringing in new management companies. I don't think that I have ever seen a familiar face in the office for more then a year. When I call to have something fixed, they normally forget to put the request through to maintenance, or loose it all together. I am getting ready to move (Thank God), and am now on a month-to-month lease until July when I move, but even though I am renting month-to-month and my rent went up over $100 because of that, they are still requiring me to give a 60 day notice.

The Maintenance team at Timberglen is pretty incapable of fixing anything. The air conditioning unit above my bathroom ceiling has been leaking since I moved into the unit almost 3 years ago and they have tried to fix it nearly 6 times... doesn't there come a time in the mind of someone who has any common sense that after trying to fix something 6 times, maybe it is just time to replace it'

I could go on forever...

Bottom line... if you value your time and money and the place that you call home... look somewhere else!

If you would have read the first page of your lease you would know that you have to give a 60 notice even if you decide to move out on MTM basis. I dont understand why people just sign things withought reading them and then get mad when things dont go their way.

In defense of the person who wrote this review: I don't know whether they read their lease or not. But when I was filling out my application to live here (which was approved), I had some questions about some of the contents of the fine print on a few parts of the application. I mentioned these questions to a staff member on the phone before I submited my application. She told me that the documents they use are standard documents used in Texas, and not everything applies to Timberglen, so she told me I should just sign it anyway. I told her that I had concerns about doing this, as legally I could be held to a written document I signed. She seemed insulted by this, she actually told me "Well, if you don't believe what I'm telling you then I'm not sure what to say. It's not like the staff here are going to lie to you." So really, if the staff are encouraging tentants to sign paperwork that contradicts the information they provide verbally- that really should be their problem, not the tenants who unfortunately took a chance and decided to trust them.
