Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I lived here for a year and the apartment was nice enough but my downstairs neighbor loved to share his bass amplifier with the building. After a few months, I called the police at 3 in the morning. They never came. Called them again a week later and got the same result. The Property Manager told me not to call the police in the future but to call their after hours number and a resident police officer would be paged to handle the situation. I did this the next time and after 3 pages she finally called me back to let me know the officer on duty that night was taking a night shift downtown and refused to help. The maintenance staff was very prompt and friendly the couple of times I needed a repair. But the staff (other than the head property manager) was always unwilling to give there time when I had a question or a problem. When I was a perspective leasee, they treated me like gold! In their favor I must admit the apartments and the problems I had are minor to what I have since I moved to DC. I have a 1 bedroom brand new apartment here that cost me $2100 a month and I've got worse noise problems and deal with fire alarms that go off several time a month and mostly in the middle of the night. I'd prefer to be annoyed for the lesser $1200 rent and the extra bedroom and additional 500 sq. feet at the Verandas!! And also, The gates were always broken the year I lived there!
