My boyfriend had his truck window busted in and his labtop was stolen. Seven other vehicles that night were broken into. About 2-3 months later his truck was stolen right in front of our apartment and it was completely stripped! They sent notices out shortly after that saying women were being followed into their apartment and held at gun point while the robbers cleaned them out.

The only security they have is some police officer/security guard that will come in and kick you out of the hot tub at EXACTLY 10pm. That's obviously their biggest concern.

Why on earth would your boyfriend leave his laptop in his truck? That's like ASKING someone to break in and steal it. Here's a tip to keep people from breaking into your car...don't leave stuff in it that would entice a would-be robber to steal it. Thieves are lazy and go for easy to steal stuff. If you keep your car clean and don't leave valuable stuff in it you're less likely to have it broken into.

As for a notice that women were being held at gunpoint...I've never received a notice like that on my door.

And if you don't want to follow the pool/hot tub rules that you agreed to when you signed your lease, MOVE. You were probably being loud and bothering the people who live near the pool. The police officer that patrols the property has responded promptly any time I've needed assistance.

I have managed this property for over a year and have never sent our any notice like that. We have sent out many notices warning residents not to leave items like this in their vehicles and to use their free intrusion alarms. We also have hired Statwide Patrol service to help deter these kind of incidents. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
