I'm so disappointed in the management of the property since Lincoln Properties came in. I don't think they have a grasp of the day-to-day management needs of the property and I don't know how they can keep going by just putting band-aid over band-aid to try and stop the bleeding.

Their record-keeping is terrible, and there are never any valid, believeable answers to my questions. Am I the only one who questions operational matters...

My unit is so overpriced at this point it's ridiculous, and the price to live here just keeps going up, with service and benefits going down.

I am considering moving here but have been reading the reviews and the only thing that seems to concern me is the safety. I see that several cars have been broken into and women are being held at gunpoint. I am often home alone and the last thing I want to worry about in my own home is my safety. Is this really a big issue as it seems?

Check out dailycrimereport.com to get an idea of the incidents in the area. The apts are in Dallas Police Dept Beat 613.

The poster who said women are being held at gunpoint is lying through her teeth. I've lived here for almost a year (the supposed incident is in that time frame) and I can say with 100% certainty that it never happened. I feel safer here than I did in any other apartment complex I've lived in. As with any place, you have to remember that crime happens everywhere and to never assume something bad can't happen to you. If I didn't feel safe here, I wouldn't be home alone with my 6 month old baby every day while hubby's at work. But I'm still smart enough to keep my doors locked, valuables out of sight, and my car fairly clean (which reminds me....need to clean it out today...) so I'm not leaving an open invitation for some criminal or punk kid to rob me blind, rape me, or destroy my personal property.

i live here as well and the notice received about the woman held at gun point was a warning of a crime that happened at ANOTHER dallas property. It wasn't here. it was just a warning that somewhere in dallas it had happened and to be on the lookout in case he struck again. that was actually pretty gracious of them to take the time to warn us single ladies and give the info out. a large part of safety really is a choice like the prev. person suggested. i have not had any problems at all. plus they have a patrolling officer here at night who started a few months ago and they are doing a great job. i see them walking and driving every night. this woman has even walked me to my apartment before when i caught her outside very late at night.

Ha, thats funny. There has not been a "patrolling officer" for almost 3 months now. If you have an issue at night, and need to call the patrolling officer, he will not respond, you are better off calling 911, they are the only people who will help you, Verandas doesnt care. Please dont act like crime is not a problem on this property.

I've lived here for 12 years. The only thing that has happened in that time, in the middle of the day, is when a girl went screaming through the courtyard, where my apt overlooks, chasing some guy that stole her purse from her car parked at the mailbox, which apparently happened numerous times, and has never since happened. So I lock my car now when I get the mail. If that is all I have to worry about, I'm good. I've NEVER had any criminal experiences during this time. I have these rules that have helped apartment life in general: 1) Live in a complex with some security. Okay gates, DON'T keep out the bad, but they certainly deter. Think about it, if the criminal doesn't have access to get out of this complex easily by running in any certain direction, they might not get out in time. I've gone walking with intent to walk outside of complex, and not knowing the exit gates code, I can't get out. Frustrating, but it keeps the bad ones from escaping. 2) Live on a floor where no one lives above you. And don't live on the first floor if you are female. Do I really need to explain why? If you want, I will. 3) Don't live over or near the pool if you have a responsible life. This is the best place if you are able to party every day and night. I envy those that qualify. For what it is worth.......
