I recently moved here (I have been here for almost two months) and I LOVE IT. I gave it some time before I wrote a review because I sure know how apartments can look nice but turn out disgusting. I have some complaints and some good things to say as well. When we first moved in we did a big clean (I always do every time I move into a new place even if it looks clean -- which it did) I did notice some dead bugs on the bathroom counter (later saw they were ants) That is my only real issue. There seems to be an ant problem in the master bath (I have not called the office yet so I can't say whether they are good about taking care of it or not) I was taking a shower the other day and TONNNNS of ants (including queen ants were ALLL over my stand up shower door, I FREAKED OUT and we sprayed tons of ant killer and have not had a problem since (same reason i never called the office) We also had a HUUUUUUGE spider (which I am so freaked out of) in our master bedroom but we killed it and havent seem anything since. I am going to be giving the office a call for pest control to come by bc we keep waking up with bites on us....I am sure they will take care of it because the office staff seemed GREAT when we were moving in (I have to give big props to Kristen -- she is a sweet manager and helped us make this an easy move) The other managers seem real nice as well ( as much as I know them) They are all very kid friendly , I have a crazy child, and they were all real sweet to him when we were moving in...so they def. probably all have patience which is a good quality considering my son can be a little TO CRAZY sometimes. The apartments are REAL NICE, for an apartment...we have the 3 bedroom and I can say this is one of the nicest apartments I have seem in this area. I lOOOOVE the kitchen, not a typical apartment kitchen so it makes you feel more at home......at times I feel I live in a small nice house instead of an apartment because it is soooo spacious in my apartment and I am not sure about the rest of the complex but I sure know it is quiet where I live. (I Live at the front if you go in the right gate and go down a few buildings. I am not sure what people say about parking but I live on the side where there are not many spots and there are ALWAYSSSSSS open spots..always so if anyone has a problem with parking I do not see why bc there are hardly any by me and they are never all full. I just love how the apartments (at least the one I live in) have a lot of upgrades -- one reason the rent is kinna pricey (but totally worth what you pay for -- yes a house might be better for this price , but this apartment makes you not want to kick yourself for paying this much for an apartment haha) The carpet is real soft (I don't think I have padding underneath mine bc it doesnt feel like it but it is still real soft) The kitchen is great, the bathroom is nice...the bedrooms are kind of small but the living room is very spacious -- very hard to find in an apartment. I just overall love the layout and inside. I read tons of bad reviews when I moved in and even asked the manager about some of them , and they were totally honest. I have never seem weirdos at night like people say, and drug dealers...but YOU LIVE IN DALLAS what do you expect'!'!! I personally think the complex is real quiet and WELL kept. I never really see my neighbors so I don't know what kind of people they are, but it is real nice having quiet ones I shall admit. I heard the pool was a big part y pool but I guess it is a good thing all the residents can get along and have a good time together. I do enjoy the gym , it is very nice compared to most apartment gyms. They have a movie-bar-pool table area in the office you can rent out which is a good thing..overall I really have nothing bad to say about this place and will renew my lease OVER AND OVER until I finally get a home.
***One comment to the car break-ins -- I have not heard of anything other than the one car that had a laptop stolen out of it , this is the break-in I asked management about when I moved in and they admitted to it....WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE A LAPTOP IN A CAR IN THE FIRST PLACE WHERE PEOPLE CAN SEE IT..is the only comment I have to that.***
Out of the 3 apartments I have been in, and the 4 of my sisters ....Cars have been broken in to -- or attempts to break in them -- which were either OURS/FAMILY or friends of ours...and all the apartments were in this area and NO ONE had anything valuable in SIGHT...so I wouldn't consider the laptop issue a reason to NOT live here. This is the best apartment in this area from what I have lived in around here so far...
**Sorry last comment -- we had an issue when we were moving into this complex and I will say the only experience I have had with maintenance was GREAT -- we were checking on the apartment before we moved in the morning and had some problems and maintenance met us at the complex at MIDNIGHT and the gentleman was SUCH A big help and made sure we were taken care of.**

It was my boyfriend???s laptop that was stolen and NO he didn't leave it in plane sight. It was unintentionally left in the floorboard of the passenger seat. He used it for school and his truck was parked right in front of our apartment. He has dark tented windows, so there is no way someone could have seen it by looking in. Did you also ask about THE OTHER SEVEN VEHICLES THAT HAD THEIR WINDOWS BUSTED IN THAT NIGHT?! No, I didn't think so. You have lived there 2 months, we lived there a year.
Oh, and did ya also ask about his truck being stolen out of the parking lot TWO MONTHS LATER (which was completely striped when we got it back)? You asked about the laptop, but didn't care to ask about cars being stolen...HELLO????

lol ya exactly....all car floorboards are clearly visible....and Suv's/trucks are 100 percent visible as well once you are up to the window. And two months? That is a decent time to realize these apartments are pretty good....Just remember where you live!!! You are in Dallas, have you not seen the other apartments around here? Sutton place, my sister lived in those and had a friends car stolen and a few of her friends cars broken into -- which is right next door. So get use to it, cars get broken into all the time, but what is management suppose to do when YOU LEAVE EXPENSIVE STUFF IN YOUR CAR?!?!?! HELLO that is your own fault for being that stupid. There are signs at the gates helping people like you out, and telling them to take your valuables inside....I guess they have to go to that extreme when people can't figure it out on their own. This is the year 2008, there are a ton of break-ins EVERYWHERE. At least the community is very nice and the apartments are VERY NICE inside. I love it, sorry you are butt hurt over what was your own fault, and not the apartments.

sorry, just because people live in Section 8 doesn't mean that they are bad people. You are judging people based on what they live in, get over yourself. I know many people who live in nice homes that I know of that have stolen. Gross people live everywhere, you see people in 200K homes that are nasty. It seems to me that people are just trying to blame their stupidity on others. DON'T LEAVE VALUABLE Items in your vehicle. This could of happened in a great neighborhood or a bad one. It doesn't matter -- Moral of story , YOU'RE A DUMB A$$.

/agree with those who say to take your valuables inside. Car break ins are crimes of opportunity. My insurance company would laugh me out of a policy if I left a computer in my car then had the balls to whine that it got stolen because I was too stupid to bring it in. Not that I am saying my kid is not more important than a computer, but I wouldn't leave a computer in my car any more than I would leave a baby in the car.

Car breaks ins are the least of your problems in this apartment complex, you need to fear for your personal safety and watch out for gun shots past 10 p.m. Oh and dont expect to go to the pool at all on the weekends, people from all over Timberglen (ghettoland) Rd. come to our pool, they dont actually live here and they are NOT A GOOD CROWD.

so yea my sister is the one who wrote this review and i agree with her 100%! we have had NO issues with anything so far other then the ants. (by the way got taken care of THAT NEXT DAY thanks to Kristen in the office) so for those of you who have nothing better to do then talk out of your a$$es and whine get over it. If you think it is that bad then brake your lease and move! Oh by the way!!! You said the labtop wasnt in plain sight but yet he left it in the passenger seat??? sorry hunny but that IS plain sight. tinted windows or not... think about it! Me and my sister lived in really nice apartments before these and there was nothing BUT brake ins and creeps and stalkers. ANYWHERE you go there will be something wrong so get off your high predastoll and shut up! About the gun shots... We live in texas people!!! Almost everyone i know owns a gun... Almost everytime there is a apartment shoting its normaly on the news. Yea i havent seen anything on tv yet... If yall are to good to live in the apartments do everyone a favor and move out! Oh and about the pool... ITS A POOL!! no one there is hurting you. who cares if they party DONT LIVE BY THE POOL SMART ONE. Atleast everyone is getting along and having fun. Try getting your head out of your A$$ and try it! i love these apartments and i feel safe. Im a cute 18 yr old girl and im sure if anything was gonna happen to me it would have already happened!

I live by the pool and I agree with the post by "ghettoverandas". Gun shots do happen. At first I thought they were firecrackers, but they're not. And the people that go in and out of the pool on the weekend --- unfortunately, by appearances anyway --- are "suspicious" looking. Ironically, I went to a "crime watch" meeting at the beginning of 2008, and the management rep. said they wanted to know if we as Tenants saw any "suspicious" looking people on the property. The previous management had a wrist-band policy for anybody at the pool; you had to get a wrist-band from the office to verify you were a resident to be at the pool, a couple guests allowed. Not so with Lincoln Properties.

This apartment has section 8 housing nearby. That's public housing. It used to be a nice area.
Response to people who do not like comments about section 8 tenants: I used to live in this area before the section 8 apartments opened. It was a nice area. It now ISN'T. Truth be told, they are often ghetto blasters and criminals.
