This apartment complex seems to have a very bad nexus with the cable TV and phone companies. I don't know if you have heard of a cable company called TVMAX. That is the only provider inside this community. They charge $40 a month for giving you basic cable. Their signals are poor and they don't even give you a set top box for your cable. This company doesn't have cable modem facility for your internet connection.
Again the only telephone and DSL provider is SBC. When you take a phone connection, the apartment management has a nice deal with SBC and they will not activate your phone before you pay around $120-$150. SBC says phone wiring inside the paratment is not our responsible and the apartment says you have to pay to get the phone wiring corrected. They would have knowingly disconnected your phone wire from the interface room.
I had a very bad experience dealing with these guys. They don't allow big service providers like Comcast into the apartment complex and hence the chaos.
One good thing about the community is there is no body to pick up your emergency calls. But you will be given an emergency phone number to call, I don't know why. And these guys were the sweetest to talk and hence I fell into it.
