Dallas Police Search For Gunman After Break-In, Woman Shot Police: Crime Possibly Connected To Others In Area
POSTED: 8:29 am CDT June 10, 2005 UPDATED: 8:46 am CDT June 10, 2005
DALLAS -- A Dallas woman is hospitalized after police say a man broke into her far north Dallas apartment and shot her early Friday.
The woman was taken to Parkland Hospital after a bullet grazed her chest. Her identity had not yet been released and her condition was unknown Friday morning.
Police are searching for evidence at the scene of the crime as they look for the gunman.
Police said the man busted in a balcony at about 3:30 a.m. at the Wimberli Apartments in the 4100 block of Horizon North Parkway and fired at the woman with a shotgun.
Police describe the man as an --------American male wearing a red bandanna. Police said they don't think he got away with any property.
The man fits the description of a suspect in several other robberies in Dallas as well as other neighboring cities, but police are still trying to determine if the crime is connected to others in Plano and Carrollton.
