Maintainance has always been fine, but i was wondering if anyone had foundation problems'' My building has been sinking and we noticed cracks in our walls this past May. Our doors dont close and our floor is now slanted. They had to fix our front door 3 times cause we couldn't even lock it. My rooommate had to leave the door unlock before she went to work cause it was too early to call them. Someone could just walk in and steal our stuff. Oh and our electric bill has slowly climed to almost $250. But the apartments excuse is that we have vaulted cielings, not the fact that we have cracks all around our windows and doors where air is constantly escaping and we keep our thermostat at 80 degrees. I pay way too much in rent to have foundation problems and they wont give us any compensation. Also i think they lied about the buidling sinking because we found areas where they tried to paint over the cracks and they have reopened again. And we had to reseal all our windows when we first moved in late jan, meaning there were probably problems with the foundation for almost a year. They tried to take the cheap way out and just paint over them when really they need to lift the building. Horrible place and bad service. I have never lived in a place where they refuse to give you compensation for faulty property. Dont ever live here

seriously? what kinda of compensation do you think you deserve? I have had some similar issues with my doors and windows, but if you call and them come out and fix it, they will, and you do know that things (esp. wood) expands and contracts as it gets warmer and colder right? Routine maintenance is something every complex has to do, bc. it happened to your apartement you think they owe you something? Ive lived at many different apartments around the country and its the same everywhere. You cant rely on the complex to compensate you unless the apartement cant even be lived in, in which case youll get rent back for the time you cant live there and thats it. Thats why you get a renters insurance policy, they will take car of all that stuff. When I was living at another complex my apt flooded, I got money back from the complex for the week it took to get the apt. habitable again, but it was my renters insurance that paid for my hotel, replaced my electronics and furniture, had all my clothes cleaned. My renters insurance even covered stuff that got stolen out of my car one time. I dont know how many complexes you have lived at but if you can live in it, you wont get compensation for anything and that is everywhere, take from someone who has lived in apts. ALL over the country.

i have lived in apartmentsd in europe, florida (been through 5 hurricanes in an apartment), texas, and oklahoma, and never had this problem, this building was just built poorly and rent should be less if the quility is so low.
