You Don?t Want To Live Here

We could provide you with a list of reasons why you don?t want to live here but there is not enough room! There must be hobgoblins because the work orders are always getting lost, no matter how many times you put them in! The owners of the property are, well, slum lords. Let?s start with the FACT that these apartments don?t have storm windows, probably have little or no insulation and, on the 3rd floor, the average electric bill is $80-$100 per month for just over 600 sq ft. Now they are making people pay for the water as well! And the bloody @#$#^&$ require a $400 pet fee, $200 non-refundable! Thats !##@^^! The roofs were full of leaks last year and it took 6 to 12 months to get shingles on half the roofs in the winter. S & J Management obviously does not care about this property or its tenants. The exterior paint has now faded to a hideous pink and aqua motif. S&J hired new managers in summer of 02 and told the new team they would have the apartments painted by late July-to early August. It?s November now, still no paint. Let?s see now, there was the time it took 3 months to switch from cable to Direct TV and the management hired some wimpy little security guy to walk around in the parking lot, on only one side of the buildings, while the Direct TV crew went in and out of the apartment leaving the apartments, this two buildings worth of apartments, UNLOCKED without notifying residents that their apartments would be left vulnerable to who knows what. When we have requested that the office ask neighbors to take their trash to the dumpster (after it had been there a couple of days) or to have someone turn down their stereos or stop yelling everynight at the top of their lungs the managment said, and I quote "We can?t babysit 350 people." However, since the complex is at about 80% or less occupancy at this point I think maybe their jobs have gotten easier--NOT! Now let me say that the maintance guys are nice, some are much more responsible than others but they?re nice guys--just not real gung-ho about about doing their job. Who could blame them the way this place is managed' Some people have told us they had leaks in their ceilings for several months, the work order got lost. As did the work order for their running (not leaking, running) sink. In short, DONT DO IT! It will never be worth it until this place is sold to a reputable and concientous managment company, until then, you get all the ambience of living in a project without the benefits of the lower prices. Stay far far away from Sunburst II and S & J Property Management.
