Leaving after a crappy year...

I saw Russ the manager's defense posted earlier. I think it's not a good day in a managers life when he has to come online to defend the bad ratings, then boost the rating score with his 4.0.
The building we were in had roaches. I understand that not all the buildings may have had 'em, but they were in our building.
Most of our door knobs fell off within the first month or two of living there. Not a terrible problem, and one we could fix ourselves, but i mean, come on.
The first day we moved in, we had no power and no a/c. Speaking of the a/c, since its all bills paid, they control when you have the air or heat on...not you. So, when the crazy Texas weather comes to life and its 90 degrees one week, and snowing the next, you have to call and ask if the heat or a/c can be kicked in. You know, since there is no such thing as the weather channel or the news...common sense is too much to ask.
Maintenance came into our apartment on a couple of occasions when we weren't home and gave us no notice at all. It's nice to feel safe and secure. OH! and speaking of safety...my bike got stolen, so it's in your best interest that if you do have a bike keep it inside. I was also informed (by Russ the manager) when I went to report my bike stolen that there was someone stealing clothes from the laundry room, but none of the complex was notified. My boyfriend and I thought it was weird that some of our clothes was missing till this point.
All in all, the layouts of the apartments are way cute. They're a comfy little set up, and have a really homey feel to them...but its not worth getting your crap stolen, and having families of roaches shacking up in your pad. Really explore your options before you move in here...

A bad day in a Manager's life, she says. Your right my property may not be perfect, but I guarantee you the things you are complaining about are slightly exaggerated. I know one thing about myself and the way I run my properties, I am honest with all people and tell them the facts up front and I do not have to hide behind anonymity when posting something like this.
So Good Luck to you.

who really has the kind of time to come on to a website like this merely to exaggerate? i dont even know how to exaggerate roaches, stolen clothes, stolen bike, uncontrollable a/c, unannounced maintenance, or anything else i mentioned. maybe it sounds exaggerated because it should be impossible to see so many problems like this in just one year... i ask that you keep in mind that this website is meant to give your opinion on your personal living experience. i have no reason to lie to people that i dont even know solely to sabotage you. i have better things to do, trust me. my intentions are to give anybody looking for a denton apartment a heads up because i, too, like to tell people the facts and be up front. i guess you and i just have a different opinion of the facts.

I was really considering moving to these apartments. It is not the reviews that are keeping me away, but the petty remarks from the manager. I already live in an apartment complex where the office staff and management have very little people skills and act like high school students. If this is the way the manager at this apartment complex deals with negative opinions posted on a website, then I think I will look elsewhere.
