If you didn't think Denton had a ghetto.....well here it is!!!! Where do I begin, the management sucks. I received a notice on my door stating I was in violation of my lease because under the special provisions section it states my trash should be emptied everyday and my floor mopped twice a week. They entered my apt. without giving me a 2 wks notice that they were going to enter nor did they leave notice inside the apt. stating where they went. When I confronted the leasing agent Kirsten (a real -----) about them entering my dwelling without leaving notice she proceeded to be an arrogant jerk. Since I have lived at La Prairie there have been several domestic violence incidents and fights in the parking lot. La Prairie just recently got assigned parking and before this went into effect there were several times there wasn't one spot in the entire lot to park because the parking lot is so small and there aren't many parking spaces. The wash room facility gets robbed every week and I have seen a mouse in there before. The water in my apt. doesn't get hot...at best it gets lukewarm and I have complained about this over and over but nothing has changed. I have already filed a formal complaint with the Texas Apartment Association and I am making it my duty to warn anyone even thinking about moving here to turn and run the other way. The rent is cheap, but it is cheap for a reason...I learned a valuable lesson...you get what you pay for!!! gkZ41df9CgXQPfm8K2A7

This tenant was very upset when sited with an unsanitary notice due to grease build up on the floor. This recommendation was made by our exterminator as a preventive measure to control unwanted insects. This tenant was not the only one sited just the only one who to it personal. A notice was issued 2 weeks prior that we would be exterminating. I have never been advised that the laundry room has been roobed or any complaints concerning rodents in the facility. This tenant has no service request in her file since new management took over in Aug of 05. Yes we did previosly have a parking space problem but since new management has issued parking stickers our problem has been elminated. As of 1/12/06 management has not received any notifications from The Texas Apartment Ass. concerning any compliants from this tenant or any other tenant. I lived there for several years. Mice, severe insect & arachnid problems do exist due to the empty fields adjacent. Bats used to fly into the walls of the buildings and knock themselves out. Towards the end of my lease, I was being burglarized every few days each week. My trips to report this to the police became clockwork. A murder occurred while I resided there, but the perp was caught immediately. While the apartments were large and rent not horrendous, they were old as most of the apartments in Denton are, so look carefully and get a lock that secures from only the inside for while you are in the apartment and expect to lose property due to professional lock picks in the area.

This the the funniest crap! I believe the tennants should form a committie on unhumane treatment and services from the complex. It should be somewhat similiar to a neighborhood watch so that these complaints can be brought up to the complex and dealt with at the time that they occur. As for the Association for Apartments, you can see the apartment listings and ratins on their site too so you know where not to live : )

I have lived at this apartment for a year now, and before that my boyfriend lived at these apartments. I have not experienced any of what was previously discussed. I have yet to see a cockroach, or any other pest in my apartment. I have read the lease carefully, nowhere does it state that you must mop the floor twice a week. And as far as the trash goes, I'm just glad you're not my neighbor. I support that the complex does not allow people to leave their smelly, leaky garbage in front of the apartment. They are not required to give a 2wk notice upon entering your apartment, only a day's notice... So again you are misinformed. As far as the Property Management, have you ever had a conversation with Kirsten, without the mention of derogatory names? I stop by frequently, and both she and Fikri are nothing but helpful. The owner lives on the property, so he is there in 2 seconds to fix anything that may be wrong. Perhaps if you took the time to speak to them in a respectful manner they would be more willing to address your concerns. I love my apartment, they are pet friendly, QUIET, and rent is cheap! --Jessica B.
