I've enjoyed living at Oaklawn Gardens Apts. I started out living near the back of the complex and had a problem with bugs, but then they moved me to the front of the complex and its been great. They seem to really take care of you if you pay your rent on time and keep your apartment in good condition. I don't have any issues with noise or neighboors (even though it is so near to TWU). The neighboorhood around it is nice, although I have had one recent incident with my car window being broken out.
*Note I would advise looking at the exact apartment you will be moving into before signing the lease- they do differ in quality.
Overall I recommend living here, and the rent is the best deal you can get in Denton!
