The apartment was over priced because it was near UNT. The only positive is that maintenance was very timely (at Park Place). My roommate and I were out of town for the summer and our lease was due to run out. Well we weren't going to renew our lease because we only wanted to live there for a few months and in our contract it said we could rent the apartment month to month after our lease was up. This was our plan but when we got back into town, we had a note on our door saying that we needed to be moved out by the end of the month which was 3 days away. We argued that we never gave move out notice because we wanted to continue to rent for a few more months. They wouldn't listen and literally kicked us out of our apartment. They finally confessed that they had already rented it out to someone else and they were moving in in 3 days. So we had 2 days to find a new apartment, move all of our stuff, and clean our old apartment. Place To Be takes advantage of college students who are first time renters!!! Beware!

You should have stuck to your lease if it said you didn't have to give any notice if you didn't plan to move out. You could have won your case if it had been taken to court.

I agree, they can't do that if it is stated in the lease... Sorry that happened to you :(
