terrible office staff

Let me start off saying that there were bugs all over - the sink broke three times, the bath once - the plumbing broke twice ... each time all of this happened it took maintanence at least 6 days to get there and if we happened to be out - oh well for us because all we got was a note saying they had stopped by, then another 6 days would go by.
So i decided to live in these apartments with one of my friends. We got into an extremely terrible fight and the conditions were no longer livable. We had both moved out and told the office staff about our problems. They told us oh well. I let my friend off the hook to sign off and ended up paying for two months more rent, a reletting fee $565), and not getting my deposit back, which was almost three thousand dollars. Jo pretty much sat there with a smirk on her face the entire time i was in tears - her attitude was pretty much "oh well for you" - even after she had told me she was going to have someone else live there as soon as the next month started. Why take advantage of people like that' .... It would've been cheaper to have just lived out the entire lease. I figured I would get my deposit back if i made sure the apartment was in great condition. I had it professionally cleaned and made sure everything was perfect - which i had told her i would do so i could get this back - AFTER that was done she told me no even though it looked "beautiful" after the clean according to her. What a witch.
And the ONE time I had to use my father's truck (one nightin MY designated spot) because my car was in the shop I was towed ... I told Jo about this and got her "oh well for you" attitude.

I think it's illegal for an apartment to charge you rent if you get out of your lease and someone else moves in. You should get a lawyer.

It's not the least bit illegal, it's a standard process and is in the lease when you sign it. As for a $3000 deposit? Yeah, right. Sounds like someone is blaming "Jo" when they should be taking responsibility for their personal life going sour and not reading their lease contract when they signed it.

Not saying that artoo1121 should have been allowed to escape the penalties but I too have had to deal with Jo regarding an issue and she is extremely rude and uncaring. I ended up having to call the owners of the apartment. When I dealt with her she tried to talk over me, was laughing and had a disrespectful attitude. She also disclosed some personal information infront of other people on a separate occassion. Jo does not have any tact and I don't see how she is still employed and allowed to have such horrible customer service. I suppose it's because the owner's don't care. Once you sign that lease as long as they are getting their money they don't care what kind of customer service you receive.

The leases here say that if you want to break your lease you have to give a 60 day notice and pay 85% of one month's rent reletting fee. If you don't want to stay for two more months, that is up to you, but you still have to pay it. If they lease the apartment the next month that doesn't really make a difference because you didn't give proper notice as per your lease. That isn't illegal. As far as the last comment, no one gets to live for free.

They did not have A Lot of litigations pending...They were dropped and found that they did nothing illegal and the charges were frivolously filed probably by some resident who continued to not pay their rent on time and have other serious lease violations, and when they were being evicted, probably felt discriminated against and that they would "Show Providence Place"

looks like the leasing agents get on here and pose as residents and defend themselves from a 3rd person stand-point, lol. if people unanimously agree that the office staff is rude, that Jo is a -----, and that there are a ton of bugs...then it's probably true.
