i moved into providence place last august into one of the newer buildings in the back of the complex. i was the first resident to ever live in my unit so i was excited to have a brand new apartment. i am moving out in about a month and decided to share my experience on here. The apartment itself has been AMAZING. my neighbors and the office staff are the only negatives on my part.
PROS: The electricity is cheap, the parking is always close, and the apartments interior is beautiful and spacious. All apts in the new phase come with really high ceilings throughout, ceiling fans in bedrooms and living room, black appliances in the kitchen, imitation hardwood floors in kitchen/ livingroom/ hallway, carpet in bedrooms/closets.
CONS: the office staff is rude and none of them seem to ever be on the same page, the walls and ceilings are super thin.. so thin that i know everytime the girl above me goes to the bathroom because i can hear her walking and the toilet flushing, verizon fios is the only cable/internet available (its good service but really expensive), maintenance requests take about a week to fulfill even though the staff will tell you it will be two days, and the pools will randomly be closed for unknown reasons.
OVERALL, i can put up with all of the CONS. the PROS definately outweigh the cons. my biggest con is the people who live above me who are completely ridiculous but that is just a personal conflict and has nothing to do with providence management or living itself. :) if you can get approved for this complex then move to the new phase and you will love it! i hear the older phase is a bit noisier, so that may not fall into this review. g-hKOS7s4Nq5n3hEIpHd

I have lived here for four years now. I agree that the apartment staff is completely rude; mainly Jo Rosenbach the apartment manager. They are fake and don't care about the residents. I have paid my rent on time or early, in full every month and when my car was towed from covered parking (I use it to unload groceries) she refused to help and was very rude about it. I told her that I was in an empty spot and had forgotten to move after unloading groceries. The apartments sends out flyers periodically saying that if you are towed from the STREET they cannot help b/c the city had you towed. I didn't understand why they couldn't help a solid, long-term resident who was towed from thier RESIDENCE.
I gave my notice the same day I paid $160 to get my car out of tow. This was not the only reason, just the last straw. I previously had issues with Jo disclosing personal information infront of other people, there are SCORPIONS and when I reported them, they acted very irritated that they were going to have to pay to have them removed. I was told by one of the many revolving staff member that scorpions were no different than ants. Well I would rather my children be bitten by an ant than a scorpion any day. In order to fumigate they wanted you to basically pack like you were moving but said that you could not store your belonging son the patio. I guess I was suppose to rent a storage for the day??
There are also always spiders, silverfish and other annoying but probably harmless bugs all the time. I have seen snakes a couple of times in the parking lot but the apartments are fairly new still and their homes were disturbed in order to build these apartments.
The walls are thin and I can hear my neighbors argue at all times of the morning, use the restroom and unfortunately I can hear when they have sex.
Verizon is the only service and I find them to be horrible. Their customer service is terrible. My internet, which I need for online classes, has gone down twice one of which was during finals. The fios service is slow.
I don't recommend these apartments to anyone mainly because of Jo, the apartment manager.
