I just transferred to UNT when I moved into Savannah trails. It seemed like a good deal and had good specials going on, so I signed up. My problems began as soon as I moved in. I made a mistake and didn't look at the ACTUAL apartment I would get, just a model and a different vacant one. My lock was broken and was never fixed by them, buy by my dad later. Everything was dirty. It was obvious no one had cleaned it. When I looked out on the balcony, the entire balcony and door and carpet near door was covered in pigeon excrement. I do mean covered. You could barely see underneath it. There were baby pigeons nested in the former residents junk. They remained there for at least a month before someone that I contacted myself got them (& didn't kill them). Then I cleaned it up myself. Lots of wasps also nested on the balcony, they didn't care. All of the bottom kitchen cabinets and wall behind them were covered in mold and the woodwork warped, following an apparent serious plumbing problem from previous tenants. They came to take care of it, but were only going to spray the corners until I insisted that they actually fix it and remove some of the paneling that was covering it up. My thermostat was not working properly for 3 weeks. Then they replaced it with an old one that only worked slightly better. No one ever came to exterminate in an entire year. Lots of skanks live there. Some like 8 per bedroom. One guy used to drive his low-rider on the grass, open his doors and blare his stereo to his 30 relatives standing outside his apartment, or sitting on the dining room table he drug out. Nothing was ever done. Lots of bad kids like to vandalize things and run around the area. My tires were punched out with thumb tacks. I could go on and on. I was always courteous without exception to all staff and residents there and was never even one day late on rent. Upon moving out, they charged me a "dirty beyond normal" cleaning charge as well, and some other made-up stuff, resulting in appr. $70 tab after deposit. I think they actually expected to get it.
