When my roommate and I decided to move to Singing Oaks, the management talked the place up very well, the model they showed us was great looking, and the rent was very cheap. It looked like a great place to live. WRONG!!! Only after we signed the lease and did a walkthrough were we told that the place doesn't have real air conditioning. It has swamp coolers. If I had known about that before hand I would have walked out. The AC situation was a nightmare, we had bug problems whether the place was clean or not, and one of my guests was actually jumped by 3 men and beaten just walking a block away to the store. The maintenance was aweful. My shower wall collapsed due to water damaged drywall and it took 4 months and a threatening call to the property owners to have anything done about it. Their idea of a repair was a thin plastic panel glued over the hole. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy.
