I've lived at the Waterford At Spencer Oaks Apartments for almost three years, now, and am moving out of state for the sake of a job.
The staff is knowledgeable and amiable, and try to do what they can to keep the community happy as a whole. The matinence staff is gruff and overworked but they do a good job when they eventually get to you. As with all apartment complexes, you have to badger a little if your problem is not an emergency.
These apartments, however, are nice, spacious, quality apartments. Wood veneer floors and venetian blinds are being installed around the community as people move out to update the already neutral and inviting interior. Trash is a problem, but with a generally quiet community and friendly neighors, it's easy to overlook. One big problem is the air conditioning units. These suckers are OLD and you will not get a temp blow 78-80 during the hottest part of the day during a Texas summer(mid-June through November). There is a problem with the wind blowing out the pilot light on the gas heater but that is usually considered an emergency during the cold months.
Generally, compared to most of the apartment complexes in the area, this is a really wonderful complex to live in, unlike the rat holes like Campus Park. Alot of families live here and the atmosphere is very friendly.

This review sure looks like a manager or employee wrote it. What tenant would ever write that the staff tries to "do what they can to keep the community happy as a whole"?? People don't really think that way. Either your experience is good, or it's not. Nobody knows if the maintenance staff is "overworked" unless they work with them. This is too fishy to believe.

I am not a manager or employee. And I do think that way. I actually took the time to get to know the staff- it's better to do this so that they actually want to help you out when you need to have something fixed. You must be a really awful cynic... old fashioned people still exist in the world.
