I recently moved into Ash Lane Apartments, and from Day 1 I have had problems. I toured the property about a month before I was to sign my lease. There was plenty of time to have my apartment ready for move in. When I went to sign my lease I was able to view the apartment before signing the lease. Well, nothing had be cleaned and the carpet was horrible. The only thing that seemed to be done was the walls were painted. It was a Saturday around noon, and the leasing agent said she would try to get the new carpet in that day, but there would be no promises on if it would happen. I had paid a moving crew to help out, but had no place to move into. She gave me a key and told me it would be alright if I went ahead and moved my furniture in, and guaranteed me that my belongings would be safe. I had to wait until the following Monday before I could even stay there, leaving me homeless for two days, since I had to be out of my previous apartment at the same time. Once I finally was able to get in and stay there, I noticed that my 35inch TV was busted all along the back. It took almost a week to even get an answer on what would be done about it. The carpet company used to replace the carpet gave me $230, not exactly enough to replace a 35inch, but that s beside the point.
It took me a week just to get three things replaced in this apartment. I sent a fax over stating what I had wrong, the manager called me to acknowledge she received the fax, then for a week nothing had been done. I had to send another fax, and they half A** fixed the problems.
My ice maker never turns off, and when it makes ice it has black plastic frozen inside a lot of the pieces. So they cleaned it. Well as of today, every time the freezer is opened ice falls out. AND ITS STILL DIRTY WITH THE PLASTIC.
Can we say replace the ice maker'
When I moved in, I noticed my front door had looked as if it was pried open at one point. Well it doesn't close all the way. Even when it is locked, you can push it open and see inside. I would say this is a very big safety issue. The maintenance guy said he adjusted the door. Well it wasn't fixed, because I can still push the door open about an inch even though it is locked. The black lining needs to be replaced, but I guess they don't care enough about the safety of their tenants. I certainly don't feel safe there.
Last problem there was a leak above my shower that I had to report 4 times. Once to the manager herself, once to a leasing agent and twice on the faxes I sent. All they did was paint over it where the popcorn was falling down.
Guess they don't care about mold either.

This is a poorly ran complex and I recommend not moving in here, unless it s absolutely necessary. Otherwise you are wasting your money.

Update***

I researched my lease and found under Property Code Section 92.056, that if the apartment complex fails to repair a safety or health hazards after two written requests, you can immediately terminate your lease. Guess what I did'
I am OUT of this ---- hole!!!

Don't waste your time, or money. ----------------------------------- for the last three months they have been sending me all kind of papers to sign and sending the same papers every time and every time i go and ask why no body knows and i get the on of the girls name on the paper and i go to see her in the office with her name on the paper she says i don't know who sent this paper to you. and for the last two years i have had about hundred problems with them abou repair because they don't get it done in a day or two not even aweek or they forget about it and if you call the many time they don't answer because they have caller id i checked that my self i called many time they did not answer and i blocked my number they did answer and they tell the person you looking for is not here when you go to the office you see the person you looking for and a lot of other s.......
