I have lived at Milano almost two years. It is true that the original office staff has moved on, one can only guess why.

Office staff: Yes, the new management seems to be hard-core with late rent. While I did not like the threat of being charged a wad of cash for being one hour late, I have never been late. The staff is pretty clueless if you have a package. They do not ensure you are notified. In truth I have not had a lot of interaction with the staff. They do let me come in and make all the copies I want. When I renewed my lease last time they only raised it ten bucks, but then again that was under the old management. In my two years they have never messed up my account.

Maintenance: It is true that the gates are not working more often than they are working. The fitness room is slowly getting depleted. When things get broke or stolen from it, it is not replaced. Many of the sprinkler heads are broken and I have noticed they are not getting replaced, thus leaving a 10 foot fountain shooting straight up! The one time I did have a repair issue in my unit, they were very prompt, but once again, that was under the old staff.

Crime: You know, personally I have not had a single incident, nor had I heard of any from my neighbors. Then again, I do not associate much with my neighbors.

Parking: This has always been an issue. I think some of it depends on where on the property you live. I happen to live in a spot where ample parking is not available, but I see some spots where it is. I am not happy with parking. I find I have to fight for spots.

My Unit: I have not had any real problems with my unit. The carpet sucks, then again, I think the last guy who lived here didn't care. The management did clean my carpet when I renewed the lease. Everything else in the unit works well. I enjoy the nine foot ceilings. If you live on the first floor, you might have to deal with the loud noise from the A/C units.

Grounds: Yeah, there are a lot of bozos here who have turned the entire property into a dog toilett. I wish the management would crack down on this matter. The pools have always been adequate.

Neighbors: I have been very lucky to have had good neighbors. At times I feel I am alone in this complex.

Overall: Many apartment make tenants feel appreciated, hosting parties and such. This management management seems very uninterested in making tenants feel appreciated and welcome. My gut feeling says I will most likely move out next opportunity. This place is not worth the $1/ square foot I pay.
