My Enclave Experience

I was shopping around for my very first apartment and I remembered that my older sister used to live at Enclave. It was nice back then. Since 10 years ago, I noticed there has been several nice rennovations and updates to the units and office center. I don't live there yet so I cannot interject a personal experience besides that the office staff was very courteous and professional, even flexible when I was inbetween paychecks and bills to pay the opening deposit and admin fees. The leasing agent made one small mistake when it came to how to pay the sure deposit and admin fees (i paid them in one check- needed to be separate checks) which was no problem. She called me and informed me she needed one more signature and to rewrite the checks. Going through here and reading all of these negative feedbacks- first off, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I'm sorry if you had a negative experience. You are in an apartment not owned by you. You don't get to pick your appliances or how the water is provided (Enclave uses a broiler system I was told)and you especially can't control how busy or overworked the maintenance person(s) is/are. I'm not saying not having hot water isn't an issue, but I've lived in over 14 apartment complexes from the time I was a baby with my mother who was a single mom. You have to understand that just because you saw a bug (which is part of nature, it happens...you will probably get a few) you can't rip your complex a new one. If you can find me a complex that has 100% NO bugs whatsoever (much less a town in Texas) then let me know. Now not having hot water, ok. That is a valid issue. I wasn't there during that so that's all I'm going to say about that. But all of these other comments about following the manager (which is stalking, and a little excessive) and the complaint about the bugs, and ONE rat found DEAD in the street...all of that is pretty childish. I'm not going to base where I live, how much I pay, and how long I stay based off of those irrelevant claims and complaints. How about posting a rating about how your service was' How the rent was handled' The trustworthiness and effectiveness of the managment' THOSE are relevant facts. I'm at work, and I am taking the time to type this because just like you all who posted your opinions which you are entitled to, I'm doing the same. For what I'm paying, I know I get what I paid for and can only hope to be treated with respect, dignity, honesty, and it all done professionally. I used to stay at my boyfriend's apartment (not at Enclave). He had (and I'm not joking) an ant problem (caused by neighbors leaving trash full of food on porch instead of taking to dumpster), he never had working washer & dryer until recently (because I called maintenance after we came home to a flooded kitchen and laundry room due to washer hoses being broken), AND, he got a new AC unit because I came home to a sauna and it was caused by the unit being 18 years old, and having it's terminals bust causing oil to leak to bottom and burn up condensing unit. Now I'm not a genius and I'm especially not a handygirl, but I do learn and pickup things quickly...and I am the one that called maintenance to fix all of the problems with my boyfriend's apartment (and I called at midnight at 2 am!) Why is that relevant' Because I found out that the maintenance guy was one of two (which the other guy was serving at a sister location at the time) so he was the ONLY one serving the WHOLE complex. You think you have problems'' Try having to fix every little complaint and work order that people put in on a DAILY basis, getting little to no sleep, AND having to keep up with the complex grounds and safety issues. Yes, that's the job they signed up for, but put yourself in someone else's shoes for once. I'd give you that job. You probably couldn't last a week. I'd rather have ice cold water for a few days than come home when it's 105 outside and have your apartment thermostat state that it's 97 in your apartment. We should be lucky to even have water heaters provided. Our ancestors had to broil several pots of water just to take a bath or cook! I took the time to type this because I'm not letting my 3 years of journalism, debate, and creative writing be put to waste. When one has a valid argument, you need to have supporting statements. It seemed to me when I read all of these complaints, they were all pretty much spawned from one or two minor issues that any apartment complex may face and just because you had a few minor experiences, it shouldn't ruin your WHOLE experience. Now if your identity was stolen, your rent checks were lost, your car was broken into, your apartment flooded because of heavy rain, and your power was out for 3 months, then call me. I would never wish for a negative experience for anyone, but be honest and be an adult-was your experience THAT bad that you would rather dwell on one or two issues that got resolved, and go to the extremes of STALKING someone and then RANTING online about it' I think not. I won't know this until I've lived there for a while. I'm moving in at the end of the month. While my sister had positive experiences, and while I've been in many apartments and have experienced several scenarios while growing up in them, I don't think Enclave will let me down. I'm not paying them thousands of dollars a month, so I don't expect thousands of dollars and a red carpet to be rolled out for me either. You get what you pay for, and your service is reflected by how you react and in some cases overreact. You wouldn't post a blog stating how you hated Crayola just because the tip of your crayon broke off would you' It was probably your fault for coloring too hard. From now on, don't use a public rating page to lash out towards an individual due to unresolved anger or unresolved issues. Take it upon yourself to seek resolution on your own terms. Sometimes, I get angry at McDonald's for giving me cold fries. Do I think the McDonald's company sucks now as a whole because of that' No! I still go there all the time, and most of the time, I say "and please make sure I get hot fries because last time they were cold" and usually they give me fries that burn my mouth... I haven't lived at the Enclave before, and I haven't even moved in yet- but I guess time will only tell if the claims you make about this place are that disturbing. I hope you gained some insight and inspiration to put yourself in other people's shoes, and not be so irrational when a grain-of-sand sized problem occurs out of a beach sized perspective . Be an adult. Be a part of the solution and not the problem, and try to seek a positive resoultion. If you do it that way, you can step back and notice that that grain of sand was nothing compared to if a tidal wave hit... Think about it. That's my two cents. Hey, don't complain. They were free of charge.
Signed, Future Resident as of September 30th.

Finally someone with something kind to say about a place that I enjoy calling home. Maintenance and the office staff has always responded to all of my needs and have been very friendly in doing so. Just last week my car wouldn't start and the maintenance guy saw that I was having a problem and came over to help me out. (Which is NOT his job) A little kindness goes a long way in my book. I sent a wonderful review to the manager about how thoughtful he was and how he could have just keep walking by like some of my neighbors did. I feel bad for you if you have not had the kind of service that I have recieved. However, this future resident hit it on the head maybe it's the way you have OVER REACTED to a tiny problem that has made your WHOLE outlook sour. Good luck on your move in and glad to see someone with some sense moving into the neighborhood.

I think you writing a review was absolutely pointless. You have never lived there and your basing everything off your sisters experience 10 yrs ago. Then lecturing people but then saying they are entitled to their opinion I would say very contradicting. When you have problems while living there that you are more then unsatisfied with I won't expect you to come back on here and change your review.
