I have lived in Mandolin for the last 18 months. At first everything seemed fine, but something must have changed with their management! Everything has gone downhill quickly. The staff seems very unorganized and it takes forever to get assistance...they must be understaffed.

Beware that each time your lease comes up, they increase your rates more than if you moved in as a new tenant. When I received the notice showing what my increase would be if I renewed, I was surprised...it was high! I called the office posing as someone inquiring about prices on a new one bedroom. I was shocked at the lower price offered! When I confronted one of the leasing agents, they swore there must have been a mistake. So...I had my boyfriend call asking for 1 bedroom prices and surprisingly they must make mistakes a lot because they quoted him the lower price also.

If you go to pick up a package in the office, be ready. They will either lose it (which has happened to me twice) or it will take 20 minutes for them to get it for you.

Parking is horrible. My assigned spot is about 2 buildings away from my apartment. Open spots are scarce and my guests have had a lot of trouble finding a place to park when they visit.

In summary, I can't wait to get the heck out of Mandolin!! I am moving to a newer complex where I will have a garage, and the price will still be lower than the price of renewing my lease at Mandolin!! If you are thinking of moving to Mandolin, I encourage you to shop around before making that terrible decision!!

Who is writing these responses? Hahaha, I mean come on now. Are you "misipiqueen" the sole defender of the Mandolin apts? Lol. Why do you seem to care what others post on here? If you are employed by United Dominion and do work at the Mandolin you should seriously consider not responding to these posts in the fashion that you do. It's an ugly representation of UDR, and it clearly portrays your ignorance and seeming social malfunction.

Okay, I used to defend this place b/c I loved it. The positives used to outweigh the negatives. However, after living here for over two years, I've also had my fill. Too many problems to even converse about. I will be much happier when I finish closing on my new house!
