Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005
PROS:
It's an exclusive community made up of people willing to pay a premium price to rent alongside others who are willing to pay a premium - thus you are pretty much guaranteed a wealthy enough demographic.
Where else are you going to find a 4 bedroom apartment in this area'
There's a lack of parking. If you prefer a quiet community to a noisy community where your neighbors invite a huge number of friends over to make noise into the night, then the lack of parking works in your favor. Just be sure to tell your friends that they need to park by the clubhouse and you'll meet them there. The rules are there to protect your interests even though they can occasionally be a drag. You can always get a visitor parking pass if you really need to.
The staff is friendly enough. I've had a mixed bag at apartment communities. The staff is friendly at first, as many have noticed, and then afterwards, they are just a responsible group who protect their owner's wishes on issues such as late payments, etc. -- they pretty much follow the TAA guidelines and in my experience, they don't compromise too much. That can be misconstrued, but well, rules are rules once again.
CONS:
The property has a terrible reputation for hitting you hard with charges when you move out. I've had friends here who had that experience -- I didn't for some odd reason -- and all I can suggest is have a leasing agent walk your apartment before you move and try to get in writing the fact that they have walked your apartment. Protect yourself and don't wait for a nasty surprise. Search Google on best practices -- such as replacing the metal around your stove burners ... hire a cleaning service you need.
