Okay, so the property looks nice and when you first view an apartment of course its the one they keep well maintained because its a show apartment. The $2 million improvements they brag about are merely related to crown molding, beige paint and nickle plated; knobs on the cabinets and doors, maybe a light fixture in the dining and washer/dryer areas. Did they consistently change all the faucets in the kitchens and bathrooms to match, NO, I guess if it isn't broke don't fix it but don't brag about a $2 million dollar renovation if you haven't fitted all the apartments with the same quality of fixtures. I can hear my neighbors upstairs tromp around like elephants sometimes I wonder if they practicing their WWE wrestling moves, fortunatley this is only occassionally. You can hear when your upstairs, downstairs and next door neighbors turn on the water in the bathroom cause is squeaks loudly sometimes at 4 and 5am, however closing the bathroom door seems to ease this noise. EVERYTIME there is a rain/thunderstorm the power to the this and neighboring complexs WILL go OUT, just expect it and have TXU on speeddial. Apparently they get a lot of maintenance requests I mean ALOT, so your request will be on a waiting list! I renewed my lease cause while these things are annoying you do get use to it, its apart of apartment living! Lets see what what i've dealt with over the last year... Replaced dishwasher becaue the first time I ran a load they had to replace it, they acted pretty quick on that one. Next before I moved in they had someone resurface the bath tub, well it began to flake, can i tell you how great it is to take a bath only to come out with paint chips on you, real nice! They had to resurface it twice and I had to find a place to stay both times because of the fumes. You would think 3rd time the charm... nope its a little better but it still flaking and chiping. Then the I experienced the most disgusting thing in my 7 years of apartment living. I clean my bath tub once a week, I generally take showers, occasionally a nice hot bath well apparently I have a neighbor that isn't clean, they apparently clean their vegetables in their BATHTUB!!! One morning I'm taking a shower and suddenly my drain that was working fine the day before wasn't draining, when I came home from work it was filled with dark murky water that had floating sewage like objects in it... like i stated earlier GROSS! Well it took them two days to get that fixed... I couldn't bathe for two frickin days!!! I obviously stayed with friends but seriously how is that not a priority maintenance request I live in a one bedroom APT 622 sq. ft. there is only one place I can bathe!! Apparently this is when i found out my neighbors veggie washing practices (Yum, wonder if they got a restaurant!*sarcasm*) and that their sewage/veggie water was backing in to my bathtub!!! COME ON!! Lets see I've been putting up with an oven that is 50 degrees off, when set at 350 it will actually be at 400 \-... The ceiling fans to not seem to be well taken care of as the ball bearings tick at mid to high speeds and are imbalanced, loud enough that I can't sleep without earplugs! I made a request to fix the window, the ceiling fans and oven wednesday of last week as of today thursday (its been a week)it still hasn't been addressed. I made the request on a wednesday came in two days later, friday to make sure they had it in their system then today I called again, their excuse a lot of A/C issues i'm on a list. This is how you have to get things done at Overlook nag them upto 3 or 4 times, remember the squeaky wheel! This is how I have had to deal with just about all of my maintenance requests. They also brag that they have won awards for "best community and customer service" they obviously didn't poll the tenants to merit that award!!
