I have lived at the Overlook for almost a year now. When I first moved in everything was great. Then once i was here for a few weeks every thing went down hill. My car has gotten broken into and im not the only person this has happened to since we moved in. This past Febuary the apartment above us water heated practically exploded flooding our apartment. I asked for the manager to come down to our apartment that morning 8 times. She never showed. I finally went down to the office after saving what i could of our furniture for her to tell me to calm down and whats my attitude for. They kept us in that apartment for a week. ONE WEEK. They set up 3 industrial sized fans and dehumidifiers. Do you know how bad the smell was' Yes I could have gone to a hotel but I had just payed rent the previous day and had no money. They finally got us into another apartment just to find out the AC was broke. Our electric bill has been about 500.00 the past 3 cycles because we have to set the air on 60 to blow 80* air around the apartment. We had to take cold cold showers before we went to bed just to cool our body temperatures. They had to frion charge our AC every three days and they didnt realize that was a problem. After 2 months of complaining and threatening to leave they finally went into our walls to fix some lines and then completely replaced the coils. We asked to get reimbursed for a small portion of the bill and there excuse was "well you live in a 2 bedroom". ARE YOU KIDDING ME' I CAN SHOW YOU A ELECTRIC BILL FROM A 5 BEDROOM HOUSE IN SOUTHLAKE OR ANYWHERE AND THERE BILL IS NOT ANYWHERE THIS. Oh and parking' what a joke. Drive through here at night and see. I have to park 3 buildings down just to find a spot and it is usually next to the over flowing trash dumpsters. Take my advice, stay away. You can save your self the stress and headache and pay around the same for a newer apartment.
